Pammi 0 #1 January 10, 2003 I was just curious because I was debating on an idea that I had for something I've had requests for occassionally but doesn't exist for necklaces instead of the regular pin. I drew up a concept and sent it to someone who could make it out of sterling silver, but the cost is of course higher. I've checked out other places that do pewter, but either the quality really sucks or they require really large orders to even think about it whereas I'd probably only order a few at a time. So, I'm wondering, is there an interest in spending that kind of money for something a little nicer, and different then other things that are out there? Or is it just too much to spend? Thanks for the input guys! I've been debating this for some time now! Pammi
kevin922 0 #2 January 10, 2003 I would like one with a 1/3 scale mirage g3. It would be like bling bling. Also, please make it have plenty of ice & platinum.
NtheSeaOrSky 0 #3 January 10, 2003 I think we can all vouch for the lack of skydiving jewelry. I think it is not an outrageous amount for something nice. To have it uniquely personalized, makes it even more valuable. You saw my first closing pin necklace, that was $30. I myself would be willing to pay for something much cooler than the whuffos can pick up at the dz gear store, ya know? Ok I think I may be rambling again. PS. And if a certain someone feels the need to pick on my choice of necklace fibers, lol, we may have to reveal his knowledge of the loofas! Life is not fair and there are no guarantees... Pammi 0 #6 January 10, 2003 I'm sure it was the necklace, time taken to make it and other stuff on it that she paid for, not just the pin :) I'm not sure where she got it but it was really beautiful.
NtheSeaOrSky 0 #7 January 10, 2003 After numerous private messages telling me Im nuts for paying that much, I have attached a pic of said necklace. freaksister 0 #9 January 10, 2003 I don't think its too much money at all. I regularly make special orders that are around $30. That is usually using specialty beads that cost a lot. In her case, amethyst and turq. are very nice beads and $30 is a good price. Sis
freaksister 0 #10 January 10, 2003 I mean that the beads cost a lot. Most necklaces are around $20. Sis
Tee 0 #11 January 10, 2003 I got tons of compliments on my necklace that you made me so I would definitely pay $30 for another one of yours. tee

I'd buy a pin that I could get engraved. I'd like to be able to jump it too, at least once. -Ben

skybytch 273 #19 January 11, 2003 Pammi, are you thinking closing pin shapes made out of silver or gold? Shoot me an email at work; we've got 'em in full size or mini.
skycat 0 #20 January 11, 2003 yeah I charge $17 for mine which is a hemp necklace with 4-6 beads and a closing pin. Depending on the beads. From there the more beads or special beads it goes up. I also give discounts of $2 for people who don't want closing pins and want a charm instead. So both Pam's and Freaksis' prices are right in line with the cost of materials.Fly it like you stole it! No, actually it's nothing like that but thanks. It's nothing that I've seen out there anywhere, something I just drew, and I found someone who could cast it but only in sterling silver which makes it more costly then just putting a CP on the necklace. WFFC - Yeah, Merrick has a 'couple' of additional 'duties' that I have deemed more important then ... well, just about everything else! Pammi
