Actually they're especially fast if they don't have to write that RAM out to swap. My system chews up an additional couple gigs for preview files, transitions, etc. So unless you are working with <3 minute video files, a ramdisk wont do you much good. and if you get a power drop, you are gonna lose all your work (including your raw footage). Meaning, each processor is able to process two core threads simultaneously. Basically gives you the advantage of a multi processor on a single chip. Processor's are so overspeed these days compared to the other bottlenecks that you probably would never peg it at 100% utilization either, even running AutoCad.
