PLFXpert 0 #1 January 14, 2003 Out with the old, in with the new I decided to conveniently make my last day on the last day of the next pay period. I mean, who wants to wait two more weeks to get a paycheck for only one day? New job starts on Monday. I'll miss you guys, as I won't be around DZ.com much anymore. It's been a titillating experience...he he he You know where I am, though, and I plan on making a lot of trips this year so hopefully I'll meet many more of you soon!Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back. happythoughts 0 #4 January 14, 2003 On your phone message, put "I'm not in right now, but leave me a message and I'll get back to you as soon as possible." Used that when I left GTE.
PLFXpert 0 #5 January 14, 2003 I dont' have an answering machine at home; just caller ID. BZ and I feel that machines are silly. We can see who called by the ID, and anyone who knows us well enough for us to want to talk to, will call our cell phone if we don't answer at home. Therefore, the only people who would leave a message are the same people we're trying to avoid talking to anyways...why would we want to hear their message? riggerrob 643 #8 January 14, 2003 Reminds me of my last day on the job as gate guard: I jumped in! Gate guard was a shitty job that everyone in the Air Force hated: 12-hour shifts, 30 days straight, weird hours, boredom, live ammunition, etc. The last day of my 30 day shift I landed my Cruiselite beside the guard house. One of my co-workers was pissed! Since I was a few minutes early, all the Military Police sargent cared about was whether I had brought my pass. Ha! Ha!
