outofit 0 #1 January 15, 2003 in terms of post numbers i guess i am not a newbie around here anymore but i would like to share my first jump experience. on april 19, 1999 gene paul thacker who is the owner of raeford skydiving service took it upon himself to bring his otter along with his qualified jumpmasters back to the region where he grew up to give the people of the area a taste of what he has experienced all his life. i was the first person to make a tandem that day and what a life altering event it was. since that time i have made two tandem jumps and am longing for more. gene paul keeps urging me to come to raeford to go through aff and i believe this spring i will take hime up on it. my purpose for posting this was to encourage newbies to the sport to follow up with it. in raeford they have the world's best skydivers given the fact that is where the golden knights are located and that is who i had the occasion to do my last tandem with. they r the world's best and i would reccomend anyone wanting to get indoctrinated into the sport to go to raeford for their first jump experience! It is better to be dead and cool than alive and uncool!
skymama 37 #2 January 15, 2003 Thanks for sharing your story, and I do hope you go back for your AFF training. But, since this forum is for introductions of newbies to the forums, I'm going to shoot this over to Talkback. She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon
