jessd 0 #1 January 16, 2003 There was this really cool bar right up the street from work. It closed over the weekend. It was such a fun place. A lot of people from work would go there and it was just a really great place to hang out have a few drinks, play some pool, volleyball in the summer, hangout on the deck etc... Our softball team from work would go there after all the games - it was so fun. But now it's closed. I think they are going to reopen under different management - I doubt that it will be the same. It was just one of those place that you could go to alone and always know a few people in there. It's like the end of era. GiaKrembs 0 #5 January 16, 2003 Last month our favorite bar was turned into a strip joint - should have seen the shock on our faces when we walked in. We stayed for a short while, but decided we didn't have enough cash to stay. Raddest ho this side of Jersey #1 - rest in peace brother Beth lost her cherry and I missed it .... you want access to it, but you don't want to break it. riddler 0 #6 January 16, 2003 I live in the middle of a large urban area, a mile from the center of the city. When I first bought my house, there was a cute little bar called Brick's that was just on the opposite corner with a sign saying they showed the local football games on Sundays. My girlfriend and I thought it was cute - our own little neighborhood Cheers. My mom came over one Sunday and her and my girlfriend went there to watch the game while I was getting a refrigerator delivered, and I joined them afterwards. When I walked in, I was immediately scanned head to toe by every other man at the bar. Yes, the friendly neighborhood Cheers was not just a gay bar, but a *flamin* bar - the bartender was dressed in drag and there was _plenty_ of tongue-kissing, ass-grabbing and semi-nudity during the game. Of course, my mom and girlfriend has already ordered drinks, so I was obliged to watch the entire game in between strip-teases on the bar, gay body-shots and music by the Village People. My girlfriend thought it was funny - she kept telling me that some blonde guy at the bar couldn't keep his eyes off me and was getting ready to ask him to come have drinks with us. That is my neighborhood Cheers.Trapped on the surface of a sphere. XKCD
