wmw999 2,589 #1 January 20, 2003 Saturday night I went to a wedding reception for a co-worker who is Vietnamese. Some of my co-workers' reactions to some of the food was pretty funny. Note that this reception consisted of a 10-course meal. It was absolutely delicious. However, 2 people don't eat seafood (which eliminated 6 of 10 courses), and one of the others blanched when we got to the squabs. She had a dove for a pet her whole adolescence. They came with the heads also nicely roasted, and arranged artfully on the plate. Reminded me of the Chinese restaurant scene in "A Christmas Story." However, they were already separated from the bodies... We had Jellyfish & seafood delight shrimp balls abalone and greens mixed seafood something roasted squabs beef with asparagus assorted seafood birds nest basket lobster chunks fried rice taro root dessert along with cognac and champagne. I'm a little timid with sauces sometimes, so some of it was a little bland. But if anyone ever wants one of the best salads imaginable, the jellyfish and mixed seafood delight was spectacular! The chicken-hearted (as well as the chicken-eaters) are still talking about the food . Me, I just plowed right through it.
