usmcdannyboy 0 #27 January 16, 2003 Quote I think others can tell, not by your appearance but by the way you carry yourself when you feel more confident. Hence why I always say, "Work it!"self confidence always affects the way you look. im a fairly confident great looking person but i know im really ugly as hell. its all about self confidence I am the light my son...What you seek is fire

Deuce 1 #29 January 16, 2003 Quote Ah hell....I go ugly early and just forget about it! D'oh! I was thinking about when you're feeling spectacularly plain and somebody looks at you in a way that makes you feel like a giant flower firework is going off in your chest. Only to discover that it's the look of a woman saying "Yes! Ugly enough, early enough!"
skygal3 0 #30 January 17, 2003 Quote I want to know which mirror is telling the truth......at Express..the dressing room mirrors say I look pretty good......at The Gap, I swear I look 10lbs heavier.....at Victoria's Secret, I KNOW they have trick mirrors because I look 10lbs lighter... I'm confused...which is the real me?? *confessions of a (as of lately) serial shopper!* (hey, dz is closed, beaches are frozen over..skiing ) Hmm..I have found that Express has the most unflattering mirrors I have ever seen. Gap, on the other hand, I feel slimmer than norm. Of course, Banana Republic is my favorite store and the one here in Portsmouth has *the best* 3 way mirror mounted behind a solid oak platform, so I just love to try on all diff. kinds of clothes and model up there (esp. because it is located right in front of the mens section and I swear the nicest looking guys always seem to flock to BR). Anyway..Abercrombie always makes me feel fat for some reason, but once I get the clothes home I am happy. The VS dressing rooms are always too dark. I know what you mean though. I just bought a great pair of cream colored pants and wore them on Monday to work with my kickass boots,I didn't think I looked esp. great or anything but wow did I get a lot of compliments..just what I needed on that day too. PLFXpert 0 #31 January 17, 2003 You guys are SO FUNNY! I look the same in every mirror. I've never noticed a difference. I mainly shop at Limited, BCBG, and Express. The all look the same to me, except for the lighting. The only mirror I've ever noticed that is different is the one in this swimsuit store I went to. It had a sticker on it that said "tinted to look as if you have a tan"...HA HA HA! I DO think, however, that various stores are tricking women in to preferring their shit. B/c whenever I go to Abercrombie, I wear two sizes SMALLER than what I am. I think it's a scam to make women feel better about the size they buy, like "Oooo, I'm a zero at Abercrombie so I'll shop there for EVERYTHING." It cracks me up. I really don't give a shit what size the label says as long as whatever it is looks FANTASTIC on me Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back. skygal3 0 #32 January 17, 2003 oh I know. Over the summertime I had to try to figure out the difference between Abercrombies 00 shorts, or the 0 shorts. I felt so badly about myself because I preferred the 0 over the 00, the 0 being a bit looser. Who has even heard of a 00!! My god, when I was 13 and a stick I was even a 2 then. WTF is 0??Geez....the lighting is what I hate at Express, the mirrors are fine. The lighting, well, lets just say I have found it to cast "unwanted shadows". ZipTie 0 #35 January 17, 2003 I don't think it's the mirrors, it's the lighting.
PLFXpert 0 #36 January 17, 2003 EXACTLY! I normally wear a 2 or a 4. But Abercrombie cracks me up. Even the 0 seems a bit big. I must say, I LOVE my Abercrombie jeans, but it has NOTHING to do w/ the size on the label. In fact, I think I'll sew a size 16 label to the outside, just so other women who see me wearing them feel better about themselves If only I knew how to sew Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back. freefallfreak 0 #38 January 21, 2003 QuoteAh hell....I go ugly early and just forget about it! Lol...That sounds like me...I don't really care what others think of my appearance. I know what I look like - it's what I feel like that counts to me. Hell, Keith Richards lives in my mirror. I see him every morning and altho it's sometimes a shock, I know I have a good heart so appearance just doesn't bother me. If it did, the general public would better be ware of my presence...after all, I'm so ugly I could make a freight train take a dirt road...tee-hee.
