Billy 0 #1 January 22, 2003 Have you heard about this?? On the National news they were discussing the fact that there was 300+ years of experiance in the group, guides, avalanche beacons, etc etc,, and it still happened,,, then the question "is it worth the risk??" The lone survivor of the avalanche said "it's better then dying of boredom watching TV" Good answer eh... I told my coworkers.. What a stupid fuckin question!! I've worked as a Pro Ski Patroller, made bombs and triggered avalanches, been caught in 3,, is it worth the risk??? IMHO,, no,, ya all should stay home,,, stay home and leave the untracked powder for me!! Natural Born FlyerZ.com
CanuckInUSA 0 #2 January 22, 2003 Quote stay home and leave the untracked powder for me!! 'fraid not dude ... I'll ski over your skis if it means getting to fresh tracks. Seriously though ... this is a tragedy and my condolences go out to those involved and their families. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
skymama 37 #3 January 22, 2003 Yeah, I saw that on the news this morning that the guy was asked if he would back country ski again because of the accident. It made me think of all the people who freak out when someone in skydiving dies, and asks me if I'll jump again. She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon
