Dumpster 0 #1 January 25, 2003 My wife has been lusting- For a new car. Her 96 Monte Carlo had 153,000 hard miles on it. So I took her out last Saturday and we got her the object of her obbsession - A 2002 Trailblazer. A year old, but she's happy just the same. I beat the hell out of the salesman, and got 6,400 for her Monte, and got the warrenty extended to 100,000 miles. I am happy with the payment. So now she has her gas-guzzling SUV. And I have - a payment. We also re-financed our house, got the rate lowered a full point, and now my truck, my Harley, and my rig are paid off. I think that's worth a case of beer! But man- after all this, I feel a bit like a consumer whore! It's great being an American! Easy Does It

AggieDave 6 #3 January 25, 2003 Don't worry man, its basically a large car, not a SUV, its a unibody, not something with a frame and body. Just tell yourself that.Congrats, enjoy the Chevy goodness. --"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."

Just tell yourself that.Congrats, enjoy the Chevy goodness. I beg to differ there Dave. After hauling news cars and trucks for years, this is the reason I like the newer Chevy SUVs. They are a frame on vehicle. Solid and tough still. Contrast this with the evolution of the Explorer. It's still a frame on vehicle, but the frame has gotten much thinner. Its new spinoff, the Escape though, is unibody. I couldn't believe it when I went to chain one down. WEAK! Almost as weak as the Tracker, but not quite. It's your life, live it! Dumpster 0 #6 January 25, 2003 Yep it does have a full frame- (One of the things I liked aobut it-) Also the 4.2l V-6, good power, and a classIII hitch receiver, for towing things like THE HARLEY! We tried the Escape, I wasn't too thrilled, and besides, Sharon had her heart set on the Chevy. Now hopefully i don't get too much grief about going to the DZ. (Like I did today!) And it does feel good to have my stuff paid off! Woo Hoo! Easy Does It

AggieDave 6 #12 January 26, 2003 See I could have sworn that it was a unibody type design. Not with a true frame and such as like my 1/2 ton Z-71...--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
