deaffreeflyer 0 #1 January 25, 2003 I near finished editing my skydive video. Problem is it don't have a cool soundtrack cos I am profoundly deaf. I am totally clueless in this area. Hard House, Garage, Funky etc... I can't tell what's difference between them. I don't want to put 60's rock'n'roll soundtrack in my video by accident! Prefer a soundtrack suitable for extreme sports stuff. Any recommends? Which artist and track should I go for? Where can I find it? Thanks! Of course I'll post it in the future when it's ready. OK, I'm a BIG Nena fan. "Hangin' on you" / "Ich hang' an dir" is great for tandems, "Anytime, Anyplace, Anywhere" / "Irgendwie, Irgendwo, Irgendwann" for any 2-way. Pink Floyd - Shine on you crazy Diamond (from the original 1976 album) is excellent for a compilation vid. Skip out the actual singing bits and stick to the instrumentals. Landing and post jump - has to be Green Day, "Good riddance". Embrace the wind and float into another time and place.... Mike. These would work well for FF, and maybe RW. [edit] Also "Aqua Line Spirit"____________________ Say no to subliminal messages
 deaffreeflyer 0 #6 January 26, 2003 Yo Mike My video is for "Working Together Day" - workshops, exhibitions about deaf issues etc... I was asked to do some presentations for whuffo about my achievement. For hearing family don't know how to raise a deaf child. I want to show them that deaf people can do anything what they want to. A special group called Jack Ashley Millenium Award gave me shitloads £££ to flight to Spain, do an AFF course in Empuria, hotels, sign language interpreter, free jumps tickets etc to became a skydiver - that was my achievement! Anyway video theme = AFF course (all cover - groundwork, put rig on, drills, jumps, lands in 3mins 40sec) then "playtime" - tracking, sitflying, RWs, cool exits, canopy ride, swooping (very little one!) all together about 6 to 7mins. I'll try and finish video without music and post it - so you and other can watch it and suggest some suitable soundtrack. Otherwise it'll be great if you email me some soundtracks. Thanks
 wmw999 2,584 #7 January 26, 2003 I don't know anything about making videos or anything, but you might want to have a couple of silent sections in the video, to show what's happening from your perspective, too (or at least how we would perceive it). Matching music to a video can involve a whole lot; making sure that it gets louder at the right time, that the speed and beat of the music is appropriate. If you have any local friends, you might want to ask them to watch it and help with suggestions. And good luck! I remember when a blind acquaintance was given the assignment to come up with a public pitch that was to include overhead projections; he had to figure out what was relevant and what wasn't for text appearance. It had never occured to him that it might matter. He put together a good one, and I'm sure your video will be everything you want. I think some kind of visualization software could be useful for this(something that translates the music into shapes, colours and movement, I think Winamp has plugins for that), but the help from a hearing person would be the easiest solution.
