tsalnukt 1 #1 October 6, 2012 Switched on a Tandem Cypres 2 this morning and before it went to "0" a 13 flashed on the screen. It's not the date of the next service, just a plain old "13". Does anyone know what this means??? I can't find anything in the manual. Thanks for the help.
stratostar 5 #2 October 6, 2012 Be careful that may be one of those MS13 Mexican thug units..... If it's not 1111 or 2222 or 3333 then Quote If other than these three described numbers appear in the display, or if the unit switches itself off and can not be switched on again, please contact Airtec or SSK. Please record the error code number! you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
tsalnukt 1 #3 October 6, 2012 Yeah, but it's saturday and I can't get a hold of Airtec or SSK on the weekend so I thought I would try the next best thing...Dropzone.com. Definitely not one of the crappy "black market" units. Anyone else have an idea? it also has a little "in" underneath the "13". Thanks again.
pchapman 279 #4 October 6, 2012 Quote it also has a little "in" underneath the "13". Ah, that's the "in" that shows up in the small words on screen bottom " next maint. in". If you didn't just see the screen for a split second and miss perceiving the first digits of the maintenance date, or the screen wasn't half obscured, or there's no apparent damage to the LCD screen.... then it is a bit of a mystery to me! If you cycle the unit off and on, did it come up again?? (Obviously one would rightly hesitate to jump any AAD if an error seemed to have happened, even if the error cleared next time around.) tsalnukt 1 #5 October 6, 2012 That's what I thought as well but there were no other numbers or "next maint" included. I'm gonna cycle it up again and have another look in a bit.
timgaines 0 #6 October 6, 2012 Sounds like the maintenance due warning came up (it's the start of October so kinda makes sense...) but part the screen was obsucred/broken. If the left hand side is damaged you would never really notice during normal use as there are normally no digits there and what you are missing is the month for service... Is your Cypres DOM 04/09 or 04/05 by any chance...? Edit to add, this will happen everytime you switch it on until you get it serviced...
