Kris 0 #29 February 1, 2003 I'm in OK which is usually pretty frickin' cold this time of the year but I got in a freefall jump last weekend. This weekend it's going to be a brisk & chilly 65 degrees. I'd better wear a long-sleeve t-shirt with my shorts. Kris Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

skymama 37 #31 February 1, 2003 Quote If you tell me about said jump, I will live vicariously through you awhile. Ok, last weekend in the frozen tundra of Raeford... #1. 4 way belly fly, where I made it to base with one other person and that's all that formed. All you people who doubt my belly skills, read that first sentence again!#2. 4 way train where I got to watch Katiebear practice her new sit flying skills after we broke. She's doing good and I think she likes it! #3. Katie's 100th jump 10 way. I was kind of a spectator on that one. #4. Stopped off at the Jacksonville dz on the way home and jumped out of a helicopter. I highly recommend making side trips on a road trip like that! And all the other time I was partaking in having cockitillios. It was a good weekend! She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon

akaGQ 0 #37 February 1, 2003 Damn I really do feel sorry for you all that have an off season. Maybe we should all migrate south like the birds do for the winter then you too could jump year round. - GQ ... it was the love of the air and sky and flying, the lure of adventure, the appreciation of beauty ... -Charles Lindberg
coconutmonkey 0 #38 February 1, 2003 Well, figure about 6f(4C) drop per 1000ft x 12,500 would be....... -58f (-57C) as near as I can reckon... don't even want to go into the wind chill formulas (as the tables don't delv that deep and I'm a beer to far for my calc right now). Might be off on the temp drop tho, but ya get teh idea. Too freakin cold! Gawain 0 #39 February 1, 2003 January 26, 2003. We're in the "Mostly Sunny" season here in SoCal, versus the "Sunny" season in Spring/Summer, followed by "Warm and Sunny" late summer/early fall, topped off with "Sunny and Mild" winters speckled with rain here and there. My next jump will be February 1, 2003. So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light! blewaway5 0 #43 February 1, 2003 This is going to hurt me more than it hurts you, and you, and you...yep, you too, but here goes...flipping through logbook now...wait for it...February 17. Yep, in 17 days it will have been one year. Now, if you thought you had it bad, maybe it did feel bad, but take this in the incredibly polite way it is meant and bite me You want withdrawal, come to my house. Wallpaper is actually pics from parachutist, Never have to go to the video store, I just watch skydiving movies and old jump tapes. I've got honest to god pain in my soul. blewaway5 0 #46 February 1, 2003 Broken+bankrupt=no jump for me. I had a bad car wreck, well, actually as far as wreck goes I wish someone would have gotten the video. Anyway, after they took an hour getting me out of the car and a few days in the hospital they decided that I owed them a fairly large sum of money. Bad things, bill collectors. The good news is I still get to look at my rig since I never caved and sold it. Well, and the fact that I sould be up and running again this summer Truman Sparks for President
jessd 0 #47 February 1, 2003 Quotebut the broken skull was a bitch OUCH - I fractured my skull in a car accident about 10 years ago. What type of fracture was it? blewaway5 0 #49 February 1, 2003 I'm not sure about the name or medical term for it, but it was nasty. I bled like crazy and I got luckier than all of everything that my brain didn't get to screwed up. I'm still missing about a weeks worth of memory, but other than that I'm great. See, they think I got one right behind my right ear from breaking the windshield (the glass from that'w what gave me the eardrum rupture) and then the really bad one, which they were really freaked about, happened when I ended up about half-way through the windshield and the car was flipping over in the air and it landed upside down on my rather thick skull. It was a fairly clean break, but it made my brain swell up WAY to much. You, know, the strangest thnig about the whole thing is that the only part of most of that week I actually remember is what happened in the wreck and then a few parts of before I got to the hospital. There's a couple memories of being in the ER, but other than that...?? Truman Sparks for President
