nubain1 0 #1 February 1, 2003 OK as some of you read last night I've been having a bad week.Well I went to the dz today for a little therapy .Made a hop-n-pop from 3.5 and got my card stamped with a big "A" on it. Repack went up again.Got to alti and jumped.Got stable and did a front loop followed by a immediate back loop then did some 360's and practiced heading awareness.Opened at 5k. Since It's a new canopy I want to open high so I can play around with it.Anyway, did a canopy check.Collapsed the slider and started playing around.Made some riser turns. and other things.Enjoyed the view on the way down.Set up for my approach and cut it downwind too much.Had a beautiful stand up landong and tried to collapse my canopy. Now here's where the trouble starts.I did'nt disconnect my rsl before I got on the ground and the wind kicked up and reinfalted my canopy and drug me for about 20ft.Stopped when the canopy got tangled on a barb wire fence.Ended up with 2 tears in one of the end cells.Talk about being pissed. This canopy has only 6 jumps on it and now it's getting patched.Man this SUCKS!!!!!!!So now I'm grounded from jump my new rig.At least the DZO said I could use one of thier rigs until mine is fixed. These guys are the coolest.Anyway that's my rant for now.I know I'll probably come up with something else to rant about in a few mins. sarge 0 #4 February 1, 2003 Hey Clint, seems like your bad day had a lot of good stuff sewn into it as well, (pun intended) Congrats btw, and next time try getting your canopy between the wind and you asap instead of visa-v .-- I'm done with the personally meaningful and philosophical sigs!! skymama 37 #6 February 2, 2003 Look at the bright side. You got to jump today, you got your A, you get a loaner until your canopy can be fixed, and you have a kick-ass guy to fix it for you. It's just a little bump in the road. Life is good. She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon

skymama 37 #10 February 2, 2003 I know, I've read your posts and know it hasn't been a good week. But, I also believe when life gets you down that the best medicine is to count your blessings. So, I'm just giving you a little nudge to remember to do that. This too shall pass. Michele 1 #14 February 2, 2003 QuoteWhen is it ever going to end? Now. It stops now. And if it doesn't, it will soon. Been there, understand your frustration and wondering what else can possibly go wrong. And like Skymama says, things do have a way of changing, sometimes in a blink of an eye. So blink. Change your perspective. Drinking all night isn't going to help, my friend. The difficulties will be there in the morning, and all you'll have is a hella hangover in addition to the rest. Hang on. You'll manage. I promise. Ciels- Michele ~Do Angels keep the dreams we seek While our hearts lie bleeding?~

Whoever told you something like that must be a Neanderthal, is totally clueless about women, and is probably a loser as well. I'll bet the only worthwhile thing he ever did with his life was to jump out of a plane. Don (ps......I didn't say that men didn't like that....I just said that if you didn't stop, I was gonna "bust you up").
