wmw999 2,560 #1 February 2, 2003 My air memories song is Willie Nelson's "Blue Skies." Blue skies smilin' at me Nothin' but blue skies do I see Bluebirds singin' a song Nothin' but bluebirds all day long Never saw the sun shinin' so bright Never saw things goin' so right Noticing the days hurrying by When you're in love, my how they fly Blue days, all of them gone Nothin' but blue skies from now on (Blue skies smilin' at me Nothin' but blue skies do I see) Never saw the sun shinin' so bright Never saw things goin' so right Noticing the days hurrying by When you're in love, my how they fly Blue days, all of them gone Nothin' but blue skies from now on Nothin' but blue skies from now on Wendy W.There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. It removes fear of the consequences and builds false confidence. (tbrown)
n2skdvn 0 #2 February 2, 2003 High FLight Oh, I have slipped the surly bonds of earth, and danced the skies on laughter silver wings; Sunward I've climbed, and joined the mirth of sun split clouds..and done a hundred things you have not dreamed of..wheeled and soared and swung high in the sunlit silence. Hov'ring there, I've chased the shouting wing along, and flung my eager craft through footless halls of air. I've topped the windswept heights with easy grace where never lark or even eagle flew. And while with silent, lift-mind, I've trod the untrespassed sanctity of space, put out my hand, and touched the face of God.if my calculations are correct SLINKY + ESCULATOR = EVERLASTING FUN my site
blewaway5 0 #3 February 2, 2003 Thanks for that thread title. I've been trying to figure out the feeling this badness has given me, and that summed it up. To expand that idea, we as skydivers are pretty fond of the whole if riding in a boat is swimming then riding in a plane is flying. Maybe these people weren't skydiving, but they had that same core idealism that we all have. They train hard to push the limits. And yes, I think it's safe to say they fly even more than we do. We all feel tiny when when we skydive, that's why most of us say it puts thngs back in pespective for us. Imagine how it is for them. On that note, Blue skies, and yes, black death. I know my heart, all of our hearts, go out to them. Truman Sparks for President
TomAiello 26 #4 February 2, 2003 It's a little cheesy, but the one that's been in my head all day is Robert Heinlein:"We pray for one last landingOn the globe that gave us birth;Let us rest our eyes on the friendly skiesAnd the cool, green hills of Earth."-- Tom Aiello Tom@SnakeRiverBASE.com SnakeRiverBASE.com
mouth 0 #5 February 2, 2003 Wendy, I believe they will forever have blue skies in which to soar because they were doing something they loved. We are all so much like them in that we realize the risk but willingly accept them because for that brief span of time we are truely free. Hugs to you hon. Take care and know that my thoughts and prayers are with you. -- Hot Mama At least you know where you stand even if it is in a pile of shit.
