skybytch 273 #1 February 4, 2003 I'm finally a teenager! Yes, today I turn thirteen. Actually, in about another hour it'll be official... exactly thirteen years since my first jump. Of course I have to work today so there's no hope of an anniversary jump. And of course certain people live too far away from me so there's no hope of an anniversary get jumped either. But that's okay. I'm going to celebrate at home, alone, just me, my dogs and my rig, after work today with a beer. Or two. Or maybe even three. As I get more f&%$ed up, I''ll likely begin to get a bit mushy and sentimental. Should this occur, please just ignore me. It's okay, really. I'm used to it. Faster horses, younger women, older whiskey, more money. Why do they call it "Tourist Season" if we can't shoot them?

I don't know about you, Lisa, but the most valuable things I've learned -from- the sport really have nothing to do -with- the sport. quade 4 #20 February 4, 2003 QuoteHeya Quade we have the same sky B-day!! Pretty cool. I don't remember the formula for it, but the odds of any two people in a group of 35 having the same birthday are (if I remember this all correctly) something like 1 in 2.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
flyangel2 2 #21 February 4, 2003 Congrats.........you go girlfriend. I just passed the 24 year mark. Wow, you think I could skydive better with 24 years under my belt. May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. Zenister 0 #22 February 5, 2003 Quote I don't remember the formula for it, but the odds of any two people in a group of 35 having the same birthday are (if I remember this all correctly) something like 1 in 2. that high?! wow, i do know like 5 people now (All female i wonder if its a culturally based statistic? obviously some events inspire more procreation than others.. of course for sky-bdays its more a matter of time and opportunity i guess..____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. quade 4 #23 February 5, 2003 Ah, no. You didn't quite read that right. 1 in 2 chance of two people having the same birthday. Not 2 -specific- people. So, if you have any group of 35 people and ask them to all shout out their birthdays, you have a 1 in 2 chance of 2 of them being the same. On the other hand, if you ask 1 person in that group what his birthday is, the odds are MUCH lower that somebody else is going to match.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
