jumperconway 0 #1 February 6, 2003 Some people here don't understand the ties between the space program and Texas. The Johnson Space Center just south of Houston is the home of the shuttles. It employs an enormous amount of people in and around the Houston area. We are not called "The Space City" for nothing! If someone wants to shed a low life on the shuttle accident, expect the wrath of the entire state of Texas! We are a very proud state, and when something like this happens, it hits us a lot harder than most. These happen to be our neighbors, our friends. Please show respect for the pioneers of our time exploring space for all of mankinds betterment while we foot the bill. This is no time to joke. I may just be a little bitter that I happened to see the contrail from north Houston just after it happened. God bless those that step out, while we stay comfortably at home enjoying their success. God bless the women and men who risk their lives for a much greater cause than we do. We risk for fun. they risk for us!
