Tonto 1 #1 February 6, 2003 So what's the deal with spaceballs? Are they cool, are they over regulated, are they dangerous, should the pilot know, should you ask permission from the DZ management? Your views, please. tIt's the year of the Pig.

nacmacfeegle 0 #3 February 6, 2003 Hey T, You may get a better response and a more lively debate by puting this over on the Freeflier's forum. "are they dangerous" Hell yes, but managed properly they can be a great toy. Remember jumping out of aircraft is 'dangerous'....."should you ask permission from the DZ " Definitely, its the DZO that will take the flak from irate neighbours. -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. nacmacfeegle 0 #5 February 6, 2003 Hey Macca, you having troubles today as well? A spaceball is a weighted (lead or steel filled) tennis ball, it falls straight down, at a constant velocity, so you can use it as a traing aid, kinda like a point of reference. You can also chuck it around with your pals, kinda like 'catch' or "keepie up" at 180 mph.... They have to be caught when playtime is over otherwise you have a fast moving object that WILL cause damage when it impacts.-------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me.
