Chivo 0 #1 February 5, 2003 Its me saying that a lot of things suck... and they are sucking even more. You know what I'm talking about! Don't you? Do you think about valentine's day? Do you feel it too? Does it affect you? Do you notice the same in the people around you? Do you have a SO? And things are looking worse by the minute. Is it just me or is there a pattern here? I have noticed more people being in a crappy mood lately. Maybe totally unrelated, but I can't help but to assume that it is because of that day. I have to remind myself and be prepared for when the day comes... I must survive it... I shall be strong... ~Chivo

No, no, no, not really and no, again. But thanks for reminding me it's close. In my life, February 14th is the one time of the year when you can be sure that the pubs and clubs will be full of needy, single and desperate girls. TitaniumLegs 8 #5 February 5, 2003 A few months before our first Valentine, I was perusing the online canopy list at Square1, and asked Steph what she thought of a couple colour combos. She said of one of them "I don't think that's right for you, but I'd jump something like that." She didn't notice that the sizes and models I was looking at were more in line with her needs than mine. Click! So the day before the Valentine's Money meet, we're fun jumping and when she dumped, rather than her ratty orange PD135, was a pretty purple and white Spectre 120. Happy Valentine's, baby! The point (or my gripe) is, you can't earn points to use in following years. Ever since then, I've been trying to come up with something to rival a new canopy! It's like "What have you done for me LATE-LYYYY?!?!" (Well, maybe not that bad!) So now I'm trying to come up with something special. I sure can't afford any new gear for her! Who comes up with all these holidays and events, anyway? Hallmark? I bet there's a conspiracy here, somewhere! Peter (>o|-< If you don't believe me, ask me. sunshine 2 #9 February 6, 2003 This is not aimed at anyone in particular...just a general post. People that complain constantly about not having a significant other are never gonna find one. Why? Because nobody wants to be around a negative complaining person. Everyone has been hurt and had bad relationships. Big deal. Get over it. Be happy with yourself and quit whining. If you're a fun person to be around, you have a chance of catching someone's interest. ___________________________________________ meow I get a Mike hug! I get a Mike hug! Chivo 0 #11 February 6, 2003 True. I personally don't complain about not having an SO. Its just that this date in particular brings back some painful memories. Thats all. And yes, post-whoring sometimes help. Edit: Also, I've noticed that a LOT of ppl (more than usual) are in a crappy mood. ~Chivo

Life sucks (sometimes) deal with it. Go out find someone (lots of needy people like they say) and who knows it might be your next S.O. Painful memories... go jumping that cure almost anything. yeah and you know I'm right, and I better not hear about how bad it was if you don't even try. Added. Deal with the bitterness of being stuck at work with 4 hours of sleep each day since friday! there. ...

mouth 0 #20 February 6, 2003 Honestly I don't even think about Valentines Day. When I was married it was just another day and now that I am divorced it is still just another day. I feel like if you have to have someone TELL you (ie...it's Valentines Day do something nice) the purpose is defeated. A card or a small thing of flowers on an average day means way more to me than 3 dozen roses just because you felt obligated. I don't have a SO right now simply because I realize I don't have what is needed to be a compliment in a relationship right now. That is not my fault or anyone elses..just a fact. I don't worry when my friends all pair up because that is their choice. To say that you are defined by another person is IMO not right. You should define yourself and learn to be happy with you or you will never truely be happy in a relationship. So does Feb 14 bother me...NO. Those of you that get so wound up about it are really good for a laugh. -- Hot Mama At least you know where you stand even if it is in a pile of shit. When i was 19, i had the most romantic bf ever. My roomie was always making jokes about being jealous of him getting me flowers and surprising me with gifts. Her bf was the complete opposite. So one day out of the blue, i bought my roomie a single red rose and got her a cute friendship card. She was so happy and excited. Anyhoo, her bf came over later that night saw the rose and card and flipped out. He accused her of cheating on him and accused me of covering for her. Yeah, he was a bit of a possessive moron. It was the last time she complained about being jealous of me and my bf though. ___________________________________________ meow I get a Mike hug! I get a Mike hug! Reminds me of Valentine's Day a few years back, there was a young AF gal who worked in the commisary with Lynn and was very good griends with her. I was on assignment in Detroit, and when I ordered some flowers to be delivered to Lynn I also ordered some for Luanna from both of us. When the flowers arrived Lynn's card was in order, but Luanna's only said "With Love, Lynn". It was very interesting in that office. Faster horses, younger women, older whiskey, more money. Why do they call it "Tourist Season" if we can't shoot them?
