Zeemax 0 #1 February 6, 2003 Stupid age. Why do car rental companies think they should charge more because i'm 21. skygod7777 0 #2 February 6, 2003 hell, i don't even think they'll rent one to me being 18. i don' think. so be happy that they will.later
skygal3 0 #3 February 6, 2003 Think insurance. Rental companies have to impose strict regulations when it comes to the age of drivers because of the strict regulations imposed upon them by the insurance carriers (or lein holders for that matter). Additional insurance must be applied to an under age renter to protect the companies investment..on a small scale it doesn't seem that important but if you think of the $$ that a large rental chain such as Hertz has invested in their inventory and look at the demographics of their utlization without the age limit rules they would not be able to offer a decent product for a decent rate..same as insurance for underage drivers..the low rates would not be available for consumers of age if the high risk carriers were not being charged that additional fee. n2skdvn 0 #4 February 6, 2003 because you are under 25....only state you can rent one without the under age fee is i think NY.if my calculations are correct SLINKY + ESCULATOR = EVERLASTING FUN my site

QuickDraw 0 #8 February 6, 2003 I know that Mick Hall can arrange a pick-up from Orlando for around $100, you may be lucky on the way back and get a lift off of someone. What i thought of doing when i go back to Sebastian (next year maybe) is buy a push-bike from Walmart to get around on and either sell it or trade it when i leave. -- Hope you don't die. -- I'm fucking winning

skygal3 0 #12 February 6, 2003 Oh. I'm not in insurance..so not too sure about advice..I have found an online quote from Progressive works wonders when you clicky compare companies...( Progressive is always higher than the others it seems-for me at least- but they do give you the rates of others..)Or call a local rep. If that doesn't work, try buying a 4 door sedan. (Well, it's true).

jessd 0 #15 February 6, 2003 I always thought that if you were under 25 then you had to pay extra money that would be refunded to you upon return of the car as long as there was no damage. Gawain 0 #17 February 6, 2003 You might want to search a little deeper. Most companies won't rent to anyone under age 25 or 26. I do think there are a few that aren't quite as prejudiced against 21 year olds. What about Rent-A-Wreck?So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light!
