Folks, please add a blank line above the text in your sig, it helps a LOT when reading posts. Also, please add "-- " too, that's an old Usenet thing that helps bring the sigline out from the text of posts.

I posted what I did in reference to a some poster's siglines I keep seeing that run directly into their posts, its annoying enough that half the time I just skip their post all together...

Now if you want red, go red (freak):P

No never used Gopher, but I was a regular with SprintNets "Telemail" system, which was an early email/bulletin board type service.

By the way, my same ol' sig isn't confusing you is it? :P Time to change it soon anyway...perhaps a poll... :S

So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh

Oh, SprintNet, that and TRWnet, man, those are some memories.B|

(I first got online in 1987 and BBSed some back then too, got real involved in 89/90. Yeah, I know I was 10 in 1990, but I was weird like that).

Perhaps you ought to post to Suggestions, and ask for an increase in the sig allotment?
I know that many people have trouble getting their sig into four lines, and still leave room for spacers. I had to delete the quote from the end of mine to get my email address and spacing in.

hehe...did you ever use Gopher? That's old army right there, I doubt half the people on the 'net even know what that is, even though its not that old.

I remember using Archie to find Phrack.

The local BBS scene died out and I switched to the Internet not to long before all of the cool "find" services died off.

Whoa. I'm suddenly remembering my modem infancy. I was all into local BBSes in high school, then in early college, was telnetting all over the damn place. Anyone remember shadowbbs, or ISCA, or brinta?

When I went off to school my parents got me a computer with a 14.4 modem, quite a step up from the 2400 we had at home. Holy shit. The first time I tried to pull up a "web" page I thought it was broken because it was loading so slowly. This was 1994.

I remember when I upgraded from a 1200 baud modem on SprintNet to 2400 baud and thought I was the sh*t in the early 90's. My first ISP account was with AOL in 1994 at the same whopping 2400 kbps.

Where has the time gone? :S

Aggie - You've been promoting this as much as possible, and although most people pay attention I don't think your ever gonna rid this place of the annoying lack of sig-space. Respect to you for trying your damedest though. B|

I didn't hit the 'net in any way, shape, or form until mid 1998. That's not saying I wasn't into computers though. I started programming around the age of 9, in 1980, on a 99/4a (mine), a TRS80 (friends) and eventually a few Commodores (school), then on the Apple, and eventually the PC.
