flyingferret 0 #1 February 11, 2003 I am cross posting this to a thread already in General Skydiving. Yesterday, I emailed PISA with the following. The reason for this is that Para-Service said they knew nothing about Hornets being discontinued and had ordered some that day. QuoteHi, I am on the verge of being a Horney canopy, due to all of the terrific things I have heard. I am wondering how much longer they will be available? I have been told that with the merger to Aerodyne, they will not longer be available as the same canopy/same prices. Do you have any details on this? Thank you. Malachi Russler Texas, USA They replied with: Quote Hi Malachi , I've got a major Dealer in the U.S.A. who has HORNETs in stock in a variety of sizes and attractive color patterns ready to ship at once. Please contact Western Parachute Sales Call Ralph Tel : (503) 630 - 5867 HATLEYD394@aol.com Thanks and Blue Skies NED So other than a sales pitch for a distributor, how does this help me? Does anyone else have any more info?-- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.
SkydiveMonkey 0 #2 February 11, 2003 You asked for a Horney canopy? I'm not surprised ____________________ Say no to subliminal messages
kevin922 0 #3 February 11, 2003 He didn't even ask for one, he said he was on the verge of being a horney canopy.. jeez.. that is just horrible! C'mon.. And yes I think it is true that hornets are not being made anymore, I think some of aerodyne's products closely perform like PISA's hornet & heatwave. (I think the pilot is equivalent to the hornet and the vision is like a heatwave) pm Skygod7777 he's dealer. Woo-hoo! I got an antique now, i wonder if it'll go up in price .. i better try and get a replacement hornet logo before they burn them all. Kevin
AggieDave 6 #4 February 11, 2003 QuoteI am on the verge of being a Horney canopy I'm sorry Malachi, but that's really damned funny! indyz 1 #5 February 11, 2003 QuoteSo other than a sales pitch for a distributor, how does this help me? Does anyone else have any more info? Same sort of thing happened to me when I was considering getting a Hornet over the summer. Everybody told me to email Ned and order direct, and he just sent me the name of a distributor. skygod7777 0 #7 February 11, 2003 PISA isn't PISA anymore, they are aerodyne systems. they don't build the hornet, heatwave, skymaster, tempo, or Naro (harness and container) anymore. that is why ned told you to call ralph, to get a stock canopy. or, you could order a new aerodyne canopy, the pilot, it is very similar to the hornet. PM if you want any more info on this. later
flyingferret 0 #8 February 11, 2003 DAMN IT. Okay, i would be laughing my ass off too. Guess I should have spellchecked, but I was in a hurry. If this is in fact the case, why is Para-Service telling me that they ordered 3 yesterday? I have a new sigline now -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI. flyingferret 0 #11 February 11, 2003 Well guys the only thing that I can say is that two days in a row I have talked with Rigs and Things and both days he has assured me that he continues to get and place orders for custom Hornet canopies and has not had one turned down yet, and no word of them being discontinued. It might happen eventually, but I dont see it happening quite yet. Unless....Rigs and Things is not everything that I have heard them to be.... ?-- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.

Well I just got off the phone with aerodyne and they said PISA is not making hornets anymore, Aerodyne is supporting all the former products (i.e. repairs, etc..) but they are now discontinued. So who knows, i'm sure plenty of people have brand new ones in stock. I'm waiting on my vision demo myself. :) Kevin
flyingferret 0 #13 February 12, 2003 I got this in the 'overnight' email from South Africa. QuoteDear Malachi , The HORNET Range of Main canopies is being phased out now in favor of Aerodyne Brands. Your best bet now is to CALL RALPH ! Blue Skies NED Using the word phased and what we heard from others, I am thinking that it is a get them while they are hot type of thing. Who knows when they will actually be gone. I like the sales pitch once again, I guess they really like Ralph.-- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.
