indyz 1 #4 February 12, 2003 Weekend of the 28th is Winter Expo at Skydive Chicago. Looks like plenty to do even if the weather sucks. Be there or be... uh, somewhere else, I guess. Anyway, I'll be there on either Saturday or Sunday. Sunday night is a concert in Wrigleyville. Metro, 7 pm. I have no idea who is playing, but a friend invited me. Or right in her mind, for that matter.(slinking off to the nearest corner, cowering...) Faster horses, younger women, older whiskey, more money. Why do they call it "Tourist Season" if we can't shoot them?

Hey Mercedes is headlining-I saw them at the Metro a few weeks ago when they filled in for Alkaline Trio, when Matt Skiba's vocal chords broke or something. They put on a great show. I should look into coming up for that... M
skydiverbrian 0 #9 February 12, 2003 I love the Winter Expo! I was there last year, but it snowed about 14 inches. That led to some naked sledding, as I recall. In a world full of people, only some want to fly... isn't that crazy! --Seal

Seriously, though....when you're not too busy, we better be causing some trouble! There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning
RevJim 0 #11 February 12, 2003 Hey Brian, any idea if/what/when Skydive Chicago is doing for Safety Day? Roger's place has been touted as having the best safety day programs in the area, and I'm thinking about heading down for it this year. Might even have my repack done on one of my rigs by then. It's your life, live it! This time of year is like one long continuous Safety Day. We've already had one AFP refresher day that was attended by more experienced jumpers than AFP students. That was cool. Safety Day is similar to the Winter Expo but with no vendors and is focussed more as a big group discussion going down the list of topics. Lots of people adding in good info and gets people thinking early in the season. You will not be disapointed if you attend SDCs Safety Day. It's free. The Winter Expo has an entry fee but again you have some very cool discussions going on. I believe the vendor section is free for access though. diverdriver 6 #16 February 12, 2003 Yah....just got a note about that too that there is nothing for it on the website. We've never skipped one yet so I would imagine it's an oversight for the website. I'll try to ask around. Chris
