SkymonkeyONE 4 #102 February 11, 2003 Your two photo or picture types for saving on the internet are GIF and JPG. Generally, one saves drawings and the like as GIF's and photo's as JPeGs. Open any photo editor or draw program and then resize your picture. Next, save it as a JPG and see how big the file ends up. If it's still too big, generally you can "dumb" it down. SkyDekker 1,465 #105 February 11, 2003 Thanks for the info Chuck. I tried doing that with the photo viewing program I have on this computer and that would not work. Specifically the converting to a gif/jpg file. Hopefully the reverend can help me out....imagine that I am an atheist.

RevJim 0 #108 February 11, 2003 No problem, I'm bored today anyway. Can't work on any big projects (kids) but little ones like that give me a nice break. flyingferret 0 #111 February 11, 2003 Yeah, I have 4 or 5 different graphics apps, ACDSee, Irfanview, PS, etc. But each is really good at something. I fyou just want a small prog that does not take 90 seconds to load the splash screen just to crop some pixels or change color depth, this thing rocks AND it is free.-- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI. sangiro 26 #113 February 11, 2003 Thanks Chuck. For the Dropzone.com forums, make sure you save it as a JPG - regardless of whether it's a drawing or photo. I've turned off GIFs to avoid those annoying flashing animated avatars. Those people who still have animations got them in early! Jpeg tweeking can be fun, and the pics can be made quite small. Got my down to 1432 bytes... PS is one of the best programs to use. The save for web function really rocks. Irfan view is great because it can be batched. Great if you want to convert and resize hundreds of pics. As for the IP address thing, the great thing about that is that for those of us has a little knowledge of how it really works, we can apear to be at somewher e we're not.
