PhillyKev 0 #1 February 13, 2003 Is it still possible for me to give my bags to a skycap, and then go to the gate with my ETicket printout? Or do I need to get a boarding pass from the airline before going through security?
SkymonkeyONE 4 #2 February 13, 2003 You now fetch your boarding passes at little kiosks in the main terminal. You can't go through security without boarding passes. All the little "auto check-in" kiosks which were formerly on the concourse are now downstairs. CHuck
PhillyKev 0 #3 February 13, 2003 Ok, cool...as long as I can still check my bags with the skycaps and don't have to stand in the long ass line at the airline ticket counter.
rgoper 0 #4 February 13, 2003 the new procedures here in texas (i fly out of Austin-Bergstrom a lot) you have to take all your bags to the counter with your e-ticket where they'll give you your boarding passes. they weigh your checked baggage, then you take it to a great big humoungous x-ray machine, by then you don't see them again, and you can't lock anything, they'll tear your suitcase up, or cut your locks off. your carry ons are subject to x-ray and full blown dumping out and going through each, and every item, it's just no fun anymore, and i fear it's only going to get worse. good luck.--Richard-- "We Will Not Be Shaken By Thugs, And Terroist"
PhreeZone 20 #5 February 13, 2003 They have seperate lines fot the Eticket bagage. Each terminal basically prints out the sticker and a guy walks up slaps it on your bag and then it goes through that airports security measures. I've flown from 3 airports and there has only been a line at 1 (DFW) and it was only 2 people deep. Regular boarding passes still have that 30 person deep line.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
Dumpster 0 #6 February 14, 2003 I flew on an eticket last month- All I needed was my drivers' license and a credit card- I just went inside to the kiosk then checked my bags- No sweat. (O'Hare-) Then I slammed three expensive but very tasty Bloody Marys and slept through takeoff and all but the last ten minutes of the flight. Landing in an airplane sucks. Easy Does It
TitaniumLegs 8 #7 February 14, 2003 The e-ticket kiosks only work if your name matches your ID properly. Bonehead travel agent who made mine (we were flying on points) switched my firstname & surname, so the machine puked. Had to stand in the nasty line. (>o|-< If you don't believe me, ask me. Yikes...and i just tried to book a cab to the airport for tomorrow and they won't take reservations because of the storm. GET ME OUT OF THIS FROZEN F*ING WASTELAND!!!
