SkySlut 0 #1 February 15, 2003 Well, it all started out with a raging hangover. I get up at 6:20 to head to Deland to pick up my new reserve. Three quarters of the way there I get a freakin flat. Not having to actually change a flat by myself before...I was a bit perplexed at the whole situation. Definately the last thing I need at that hour in the morning. So I get it on. Here is the kicker:Do I keep on to Deland to get my reserve with a check in my hand or head back (which is just as far, driving these distances arent very good with a donut on the car), or do I head to Deland to get my canopy and deal with the flat tire there? Of course I keep on to Deland. I get my reserve and have a few bucks left over. I go to some local tireshop to get a spare used tire...because I am a broke skydiver, but they dont have any. So I go to another place and they dont have any either. I end up getting 2 brand new tires with the rest of the money that I have left over from my reserve. I then rush home to get my car back to my girlfriend 20 minutes before she has to go to work. It was definately time for a shower because I was covered in dirt & grease, a beer & a nap. Other than that...it was a pretty good Valentines day. What a pain in the ass yesterday was... How was yours???
skydiverbrian 0 #2 February 15, 2003 Well, I spent the morning in the NICU, then I came home and took a long nap. Then I made dinner, went to bed early and had some awesome V-day dreams. (In consideration of the macho hetero insecurities on here, I'll spare you the details). In a world full of people, only some want to fly... isn't that crazy! --Seal
skymama 37 #3 February 15, 2003 Mine was the best one that I've had in YEARS! I was surprised with a bouquet of roses, did 3 jumps that were bought for me and he also took me out to an excellent dinner. All of this came from a guy who didn't even want to get lucky with me which made it even more thoughtful and special. She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon

skymama 37 #5 February 15, 2003 Quote All that and didnt want to get lucky, huh??? Nope, it was a pity date, he's married. He came in town to train at the tunnel and when he heard that I didn't have any plans, he decided to make the day special for me since he wasn't going to be doing anything either. Since we are the good skydivers that we are and have our priorities straight, we jumped instead of worring about making those pesky reservations for dinner. As a result, we had a hard time finding a place with less than a 2 hour wait. SkySlut 0 #6 February 15, 2003 Main Street Grill, Emmy's or did you settle for a nice quiet and quaint dinner at the Blind Pig???
skymama 37 #7 February 15, 2003 Haha, I don't live in Deland, so we went to Seminole County. We finally found an Italian place with excellent food. But, it's in a strip mall, we had to eat outside with the other losers who didn't make reservations, and we had to deal with cars and packs of teenagers walking by. Good thing we didn't need to set the stage for romance, because there's nothing worse than a pack of teenagers to ruin the mood! The meal and conversation were very good though. You should come back to Deland today. There's a party for Richard getting sworn in for Southeast Regional Rep. Free food and beer! SkySlut 0 #8 February 15, 2003 Yeah, thats one thing that I miss about Deland...all the free food and beer. Especially the beer, because nobody really drinks there. Except for Rusty & Dag. Is rusty cooking today???
skymama 37 #9 February 15, 2003 Yes! How can you pass up meat that Rusty cooks? It's da bomb! She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon

DivaSkyChick 0 #11 February 15, 2003 Okay, here's mine. Not too bad... Woke up to breakfast in bed, roses and a teddy bear. Then we went to see the first showing of Dare Devil (which I loved) then out for a late lunch, another movie, home for caviar, fois gras, fabulous cheeses, sauterne to drink, chocalate covered strawberries (we dipped) for dessert then a SERIOUS stomach ache... lol There was some body painting going on - note for next time - FIRST make sure it washes off. eeneR 3 #14 February 15, 2003 We had to do our Valentines Celebration a week early due to Chris' schedule. So last week we were both on Vacation. We went up to Wisconsin to Ski for 3 days during the week. The packaged included 2 dinners each at this really nice romantic resturant each (the food was awesome, especially the blackened sea bass), 2 b-fasts, 2 days of skiing and 2 nights lodging. It was wonderful!!!!! we had such a good time. There was really no one there...so there were no lift lines at all. For the midwest Devilshead is not a bad place. I much prefer skiing in Colorado where they have real black diamond runs, but this worked well with budget and scheduling. So we really didnt have a Valentines day...we had Valentines DayS....She is not a "Dumb Blonde" - She is a "Light-Haired Detour Off The Information Superhighway." eeneR TF#72, FB#4130, Incauto
