Jimbo 0 #5 February 15, 2003 QuoteNo advertising in the forums. For more information, send a pm or check the Classifieds. ~Skymama Is it really advertising if I post a link to a small, mostly unknown company that I just bought a cool suit from? How do I inform the rest of the community about this without posting a link? What's the difference between this: QuoteHey, new FF suit company http://www.fakecompany.net/ and this: Quote Hey guys, I just got this great new suit from http://www.fakecompany.net/. It was cheap, delivered on time, and has great workmanship. Just thought you might all want to know. and finally, this: QuoteHey guys, I just bought a jumpsuit from http;//www.fakecompany.net/ and I wanted you to know that the service sucked. They took 24 weeks for delivery, the suit was the wrong color, the wrong size, and it fell apart during the first jump. I just thought you all should know. Or are we now forbidden from mentioning any commercial enterprise here? - Jim"Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed. Opie 0 #6 February 15, 2003 I feel your pain Jimbo & Leroy. I thought we were going to discuss a new jumpsuit company. Yes, I know I'm being bitchy.
skymama 37 #7 February 15, 2003 Jimbo, in the Freefly forum, he mentioned the word "our" company in his crosspost thread. I took that to mean that he was somehow involved in the company. That would make it advertising which subsequentially belongs in the Classifieds. She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon
skymama 37 #8 February 15, 2003 QuoteI thought we were going to discuss a new jumpsuit company. You can discuss it all you want. But, if Leroy is involved in the company, he can't post his advertisements for it here. If someone buys a suit from that company, and they would like to post either good OR bad things about their experience, then they are more than welcome to post about it. *Edited to add*... It would have been very easy for me to delete the whole thread and no one would even know about it. But, I'm all for free enterprise so I'm leaving it up and letting you know that you may PM Leroy for the link to the company. She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon

skeletor 0 #11 February 16, 2003 Hi all, I went to a website advertising jumpsuits and it sucked. The text in the menu's was all squished and I couldn't read it, it looked so unprofessional that I wonder if I would buy a suit from them ? after all, isn't the website a reflection of the company itself.... I wonder. rich.

I wonder. Depends on the company. I would expect a company rolling in profits to be able to afford a nicely designed site. I wouldn't expect a skydiving company that is just getting started to have the cash laying around to hire a professional web designer, or to have the skills to do it themselves. To me tho, it speaks of poor quality control and that applies to website design or sewing jumpsuits. It the QC is this bad on the website, what are the suits like ? Rich. I would like to comment on this more than I can right now.. but to some extent I agree, companys need good websites..in this day and age, websites definately reflect on the company. If it is a good product the reputation will outweigh the website -- skydive wings (skydivewings.com) has one of the best websites i've seen for a skydiving company. However, I think that mirage systems website is less than par.. sunpath isn't much better.. but the products are still high quality. Some of these companies were around before websites were popular. More later. Kevin (p.s. the website for that jumpsuit company does suck)

LouDiamond 1 #20 February 16, 2003 Looks OK on my machine. Nothing real fancy but what I'd expect from a new skydiving company. Did Da Kine ever have a web site? Does that mean his stuff sucked? sfc 1 #25 February 16, 2003 Quote Quote it looked so unprofessional that I wonder if I would buy a suit from them ? after all, isn't the website a reflection of the company itself.... I wonder. It's functional and the prices are great, a lot cheaper than most of the US companies, i'd rather they kept the prices low with a basic website than jack them up in order to pay for something flashier. Anyway, enough bitching about the site, My girlfriend and I need new suits, does anyone know anything about these guys, how reliable they are, quality of product, customer service, does anyone own one?
