wmw999 2,589 #1 February 16, 2003 I'm coming to the conclusion I'm too good a listener. I seem to attract strident people who are perfectly willing to dominate a conversation, until I tell them I have to work/go to the bathroom/whatever. I don't interrupt (I think it's extremely rude, unless prompted by safety), so this can happen for a long time. Of course, others see any drawing of a breath as an opportunity to start back in again. So we end up in a seesaw -- them, 5 minutes, me 1, them another 5 minutes, me 1. Or so it seems. I can generally take about 20 minutes of this and then I give up. The nice thing about online discussions is that I can formulate a whole thought and get it all out. Of course, then it's too long and no one reads it, but hey; what I don't know can't hurt me. I find this kind of conversation draining. At the end, I don't have the energy to finish what I was doing, because I've spent too much of it on what passes for interaction. Any ideas, besides getting to the DZ for a jump more often? Just ranting. It's been a long couple of weeks. SkymonkeyONE 4 #3 February 16, 2003 Wendy, you poor, poor girl. You are certainly not the only person here who finds themself glued to a chair, tapping away at posts far too much in a day. Still, on a cold, rainy day like today, I find it enjoyable. Chuckie
