If there is an explosion or other factor that makes it difficult to control the vehicle, pull over, stop the car and set the parking break.

This is a joke, isn't it???

If it is difficult to control the vehicle, how do you pull over, stop the car and set the parking brake???[:/]

This is nothing other than a marketing tool for the war against Iraq. I do wish that people were better equipped to handle their business during disasters but this is just fear-mongering.

I have nothing against taking out Saddam but this is some bullshit propaganda.

Holy living fuck. Just how stupid does our government believe we are?

If you see large amounts of debris in the air, or if local authorities say the air is badly contaminated, you may want to take this kind of action...Seal all windows, doors and air vents with plastic sheeting and duct tape. Consider measuring and cutting the sheeting in advance to save time.

Yeah, and while you're doing that, be sure not to breathe. Oh wait, you'll already be dead so it won't matter.

It's this kind of BS that puts people in such a state of panic that they do stupid stuff like trample each other to run from a little pepper spray.

Duck! ... and cover ;)

Things must be getting tense down yonder ... I sent my sister the DHMO website (Bay area, CA). She didn't find it funny ... and she has a science degree!!:o

Priceless! In the what to do in a high rise section it tells you "Listen for and follow instructions." Seems like that worked well for everyone who did it last time a high rise was attacked. >:(

Maybe they should have put 'Get the hell out of the buildig as fast as you possibly can." Seems like that might be a bit more sound.

I heard on a radio talk show just this morning that there is no way you can seal your house up. Air comes in from the smallest cracks. House weren't made to be airtight. There is no way you could seal up the whole house. Gee.......I can't believe that some people really rush out and buy plastic and tape.

I remember the nuclear attack drills when I was 7 or 8. They would have us "duck and cover". Get under your desk and put your hands over your neck. I suppose so they could identify the dead using a seating chart. We were 30 miles from Tampa's MacDill AFB, a primary target.

Anyway, they told us all about "nuclear winter" and being 8 yo kids, we understood zero. That year, it actually snowed. The flakes would melt when they touched the ground, but none of us had ever seen snow (Florida). It took the teacher 15 minutes to explain that this was not a nuclear attack and that we could go outside and run around in it.

We played in the falling flakes for 2 or 3 hours. Kind of a reverse snow day. B|
