wildsky03 0 #1 August 29, 2012 Looking for general information (and ballistic data) on basically every military personnel chute. Having the most trouble finding info on MT-1X/MT-1XX, MT-2XX, MC-1/3, anyone ever heard of Jumbo, and several others. Does anyone know of a resource to find general info on many different kinds of chutes? Trying to build 1-page fact sheets on everything the military uses. In about 2 weeks I'm going to be doing the exact same thing for equipment chutes. Any info would be great!

riggerrob 643 #4 August 30, 2012 Dan Poynter published his last Parachute Manual in 1991(?). You will find more recent data on the internet. Most of those chutes are listed on Airborne Systems' web-site. Airborne Systems absorbed GQ Security, Irvin, Para-Flite, etc. a few years back. Also go to www.pia.com ... yellow pages ... and visit all of the web-sites of companies that manufacture parachutes for the military: BAE, Mills, Pioneer, Parachutes de France, Bruggemann, Specon, etc. Just read the manufacturers' web-sites with a grain of suspicion, ... seeing as how they were written by marketing managers. Hah! Hah!
