Deuce 1 #1 February 20, 2003 From today's paper. (Richmond, California) QuoteGun-toting retiree thwarts house burglary RICHMOND -- A retired, shotgun-wielding sheriff's deputy surprised a pair of burglary suspects last night after spotting an apparent break-in at a neighbor's house on Carriage Drive. Police say the former San Diego County deputy spotted signs of a burglary in progress on the 5400 block about 5:30 p.m. He confronted two men inside the house, Richmond police Sgt. Enos Johnson said. The men ran away. Police were called at 5:50 p.m. and observed that the house had been ransacked, Johnson said. They found suspects while searching another neighbor's back yard. Hayward residents Hilton Alexander Taylor, 20, and Quincy Anthony Mitchell, 19, were arrested and booked into County Jail on suspicion of burglary. Nobody was injured. phatcat 0 #3 February 21, 2003 My dad just told about a friend of his at lunch today, I'll call him Bob. Bob was travelling cross country, early morning hours. He stopped at a rest stop, Bad Guy follows him in. BG pulls knife, Bob pulls .357. BG runs like a mofo. Law abiding gun owners - 1, Bad guys - 0. freeflir29 0 #4 February 21, 2003 Nice story! I have been quite amazed with the Sig 229/.357 over the past couple weeks. It was a little awkward but after the first 1000 rounds or so I'm getting very used to it. I could put my ENTIRE HAND through the hole I left near the center of the 5 ring today. I highly recomend the SIG to anyone looking for a handgun. It beats the Glock hands down. (Easy there Aggiedave)

I have the 229 as well, and there is something much more significant about milled alloy as compared to PLASTIC!!!!!!! Hehe. Gotta love the Germans as they make one hell of a weapon, no matter what it is.
ECVZZ 0 #6 February 21, 2003 The 229 is a great piece, I own a 239 in 9mm and prefer it to the 229 for daily carry. I'd much rather have it in .40, but for the deal I got on it, I couldn't pass it up. .357 Sig is an awesome caliber btw. Accurate, and highly efficient at stopping thin skinned varmints! skycop 0 #7 February 21, 2003 Sorry fellas, I prefer the Glock. Sig's are great guns but, just point and shoot the Glock. No de-cock or external safety to worry about. A Glock 19 with Cor-Bon 9mm 113 grain 1300 fps ammo is a great home defense weapon. I carry one every day. "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"
