Me thinks they need to review those codes. In addition, it's not known yet if they had a permit to do pyrotechnics in there. They said all 4 exit doors were working, but due to human nature, most tried to leave out the front the way they came in. One guy said very few people were even coming out one of the doors he was at. That night club had 4 doors for 200-300 people. If you were the 50th or 100th person rushing the exit, you would have to survive for a minute or two. The news camera that caught the ignition and evacuation showed it was out of control in seconds. Hard to hold your breathe when you are panicking. Very sad story. I used to party in Providence, Kingston, and Warwick in the mid-90s. He has some second degrees burns on his face and on his arm. Whew, my heart is still racing. I got a call from his roomate saying that he went. Took me nearly an hour to get a hold of him to see if he was okay. He said it was absolutely a horrific scence. I only wish that others were as lucky as him to get out in time.
