First, earlier this week i got snowed in, then i try to go out and find that practically all of the snow in the parking lot was plowed against my car It took 5 hours and a whole lot of guys pushing to get it out. skymama 37 #6 February 20, 2003 I'm sorry that your fish died and that you don't feel well, but in times like these, find a way to count your blessings. The snow will melt (and, can I just add I'd love to see snow!), be glad that you even have a car, and that goes the same for the computer. Hopefully you thought ahead to have a good back-up system. If you didn't, it will be a PITA to fix, but you will. Life is good. As a side note, I just want to add that I was doing other things as I was scrolling through the forums really quickly, and when I glanced up to see the thread title, I thought it said "such a yummy weed." WFFC 1 #7 February 21, 2003 Don't take me to how my week has been... 1. Get home Monday night from a weekend trip to visit Illinois. My key and the garage door opener don't work. Seems my now ex decided I didn't live there anymore. The bad thing is, she's still got all my stuff - rig, puter, clothes, etc. Colorado law backs her on what she did but she's not allowed to dispose of my stuff. i.e. that's theft and she can go to jail. 2. Tuesday - unable to convince the ex to give me my clothes. Go shopping and then head to the car dealership where I just bought my truck. They owe me a bug shield for the hood. 1st, they had the wrong part so I had to wait while they went and got the right one. Well, the new one was installed, but in the process, they put a metal screw through the hood. Truck is now in the body shop. 3. Wednesday - Spoke to a couple of lawyers and I've been doing the right thing so far. They're just hoping that she disposes of some of my belongs at this point. Not much they can help with unfortunately. 4. Today - thinking of going to live in a cave. Went shopping and got some new clothes for work. Heehee haha thanks that actually brought a smile to my face Woke up this morning and went to the doctor, turns out my cold is yet another case of strep throat. My tonsils are infected for about the millionth time...know what that means? yup, my tonsils have to come out-asap Then i go to the dentist. Despite the fact that i am sick, they still take me. I get ex rays done and find out that i can no longer avoid having my wisdom teeth taken out...i walked out with a referral to an oral surgen So, with the news that i need to have 2 surgeries, i walk into the pharmacy to fill my prescriptions. They were out of one of them...great. now i have to wait cause i have to go back to school tomorrow (oh yeah we're supose to get a nice wintery mix of sleet and snow and ice tomorrrow fun fun!) i leave, get in my car, and i am just about home when i hit a patch of ice and slide into a snowbank. luckily no damage was done to my car! Now i am sittign here eating soem really good, Godiva Belgiun chocolate ice cream. riddler 0 #13 February 22, 2003 It's interesting to me that we lump computer problems in with issues like pets dying, being sick, etc. Man, these things are taking over our lives! I've spent the last three days trying to debug some databases for a major shipping/warehouse vendor. Anyone else want to go back to the days of Atari game systems? Seriously, we just all need to jump! I don't know about you, but as I fall, suspended by nothing, facing potential death, it puts all of life's little problems into perspective.
