PhreeZone 20 #1 February 25, 2003 I got some stitches put in over the weekend and they itch like crazy. Anyone know if its cool to put something like a hydrocodozone on them? Can it cause an infection in the cut or will it damage the stitches? I can't itch since the stitches are in my back and its killin me... plus I'm too lazy to use google to search it out Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
jessd 0 #2 February 25, 2003 When I had stitches I just put some Bacatracin (sp) on them. It helped a little with the itching. I would suggest calling your doctor to see if there is anything else to use. BTW - what happened that required the stitches? PhreeZone 20 #4 February 25, 2003 These F'n itch and I can't reach them. Middle of my back in those 3 places that are next to impossible to reach. You know of mad you can be driven by needing to itch something for hours but your afraid to since you can't see the area and you might rip them out? I had a biosy done in a few places since the skin was turning colors. Did it before summer so I don't impact the jumping Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
LouDiamond 1 #5 February 25, 2003 Your good to go with the hydro just don't go ape shit with it since I don't know what type of suture material was used. If the itching is kicking you ass that much go ahead but the itch usually goes away in a few days."It's just skydiving..additional drama is not required" Some people dream about flying, I live my dream SKYMONKEY PUBLISHING

Kris 0 #7 February 25, 2003 Biopsy my ass, Erk. Admit it, Jess brought her parrots with her and had them attack you. It's okay, Eric. You can ask for help. You don't have to remain a battered-BF. skygal3 0 #11 February 25, 2003 mine were in my back too-the middle of my shoulder blades--the only comfort I got was when my friend would scratch the area with her knuckles...felt really good too. When the stitches come out make sure you put Vit E on it for a bit. It will reduce the scarring.
mountainman 0 #12 February 25, 2003 Hey Eric: I had two of them done on my back and shoulder last fall. (It DID hinder my jumping for awhile.) I put the hydro on it and they still itched. Just be sure to try and limit your movement because mine were in VERY high "stretch areas" and it made them scar pretty bad. They itched for quite awhile afterward and left some scars. I don't really care, but they were just uncomfortable. Good luck man and I hope your biopsies are OK. I've had those all my life. About a total of 8 or so have been removed for me. slim 0 #13 February 25, 2003 I had surgury on the bottom of my foot a few years back, had 11 stitches. It drove me nuts, I was walking on it to get it to stop itching, but it hurt like hell. finaly when they went to remove the bandage and stitches, there was 2 left and the rest of them were caked onto the bandage with dried blood. needless to say I have a huge scar. If I ever get stitches again, I am going to leave them alone. drink away the itch!!!! >>> A good friend will bail you outta jail...
