nitrodan 0 #26 February 26, 2003 Korea has nukes a military conflict with them could get out of hand in a hurry, should we wait until Iraq has nukes or go in and stop them before they have the chance to threaten on a global level. Just a thought.DAN SMITH www.skydivewichita.com

Hey, I'm a "tree hugger" (which I define as willing to actually do something about pollution) and I would be all for drilling in ANWR - provided there was a complementary resolution to stop importing oil. That way we secure our energy independence completely, stop economic blackmail from OPEC countries, and just possibly avoid Gulf War III. And if by some wild chance there's not as much oil in ANWR as its proponents claim? We make up the difference with conservation. So put that on the ballot - I'd vote for it. >And it's not about oil . . . If you think it's not about oil at all, I think you haven't been reading the news. It's not _solely_ about oil, but even Bush has admitted that he wants political and economic stability in the area - and oil equals economics in the middle east. >I say liberate Iraq now The same way those terrorists 'liberated' 3000 americans on 9/11? If you want to go to war to kill Hussein and eliminate Iraq's weapons, then fine, you've got some arguments on your side. Claiming you're going to "liberate" the Iraqis by killing, say, 100,000 of them, is the worst sort of political doublespeak. And if you think the Iraqis really will end up free, check out how 'free' the people of Afghanistan are now. (Hint - they are as free as the local warlords allow them to be.)
