Yeppers, same here. Took all of two minutes

Me too. A month or so late. And they had the fax confirmation to me by the next day.

I guess I've been lucky; every time I've had to call USPA they've been super nice and helpful.

That has been my experience too, even with a couple of oddball requests.

Bummer dude. I just spoke with someone at USPA on Thursday (AM) to have some material sent to me overnight and she was considerate, efficient and got the job done. Had what I needed today. Oh well...at least I'm happy. ;)

So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh
Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright
'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life
Make light!

I the course of 11 years with USPA, not to mention the 5 requests in the last 7 months, they have been good to me and explainatory when I ask (e-mail) concerns/questions (even the dumb questions:P)
They were REALLY nice in person at their office too!
---It must have just been bad that day. OUr weather here and NO parking available(Snow) is causing mass grief.

There's no excuse for rudeness when dealing with the public. But, there's always two sides to every story. We don't know what attitude rhino had when he called them. I'm not saying he actually had an attitude problem though. Also, other things may have been going on at the office at the time that he called. Maybe she just found out her dog died, maybe her boss was standing in her office yelling at her, maybe she had 6 other people on other lines wanting immediate attention also. If so many other people are saying they didn't have this problem when they called, then maybe it's an isolated incident. Maybe we should look at it with a different perspective and give the girls a break. :)

guess some of the dues should go to phone etiquite classes. either that or they need some new staff.
Esp, at the prices we pay now.
I know I have a Phd. in asshole somedays. but not while at work or on the phone with customers. Us, we are the #1 reason USPA is in business.
If this keeps up we should petition to change the name and what it stands for to:
U
Still
Pay
Anyway

You could alway become a life time member and never have to deal with it again....

Hmmm, let's see....

1 year renewal is $49.
Life membership is $800.

$800/$49=16.33 years.

16 years and 4 months before buying the life membership starts paying off in cost savings.

As I have said before, I really don't think my wife is gonna let me live another 16 years.

On the other hand, if I do live that long, am still skydiving (oh, yea, I will be) AND the USPA is even still around, I will have contributed to an organization consistantly.

I remember doing that math. Of course, this was in 1979. Wish I'd done it then...

There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. It removes fear of the consequences and builds false confidence. (tbrown)

That's pretty close to what I was thinking. In the future I may kick myself for not paying the $700 a couple of years ago but, like I said, if the USPA is still around 16 years from now, it means, to me, that it was worth those years of payments, and will be worth more.
