AggieDave 6 #1 February 28, 2003 Alright, Smith was released from the Cowboys today, do you think that he has another season left in him or is too old for professional football? Since he's a free agent now, I'm really wondering if anyone is going to actually pick him up?--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." FallinWoman 1 #2 February 28, 2003 Somebody will pick him up....he is certainly past his prime, but I think he has a few moves left in him! ~Anne I'm a Doll!!!!
FallingILweenie 0 #3 February 28, 2003 Someone will pick him up, but only as a circus attraction....i dont think he has enough left in the tank to be a feature back for a whole season.

rgoper 0 #6 February 28, 2003 he's still got some stuff left, bad thing is he won't get drafted to a team with an offensive line good enough to block their grandmothers, thus rendering him ineffective. but he may surprise us, the lions are looking for a running back, barry sanders turned them down again this year, we'll see.--Richard-- "We Will Not Be Shaken By Thugs, And Terroist"

beavdog 0 #9 February 28, 2003 All he is going to do if he continues is to tarnish the stellar career that he had. He needs to let people just remember him for the great back that he was and not just keep trying to live the life. Here's to the Breezes that blows through the Trezzez..... brucewayne 0 #10 February 28, 2003 Hell yes another team will pick him up. Look at Ricky Waters when he came to Seattle, people said he was past his prime and he played great ball and taught Shawn Alexander a lot before he retired. I think teams realize that they get more out of players when they get older, they get a good player (maybe past their prime but still good) and great teaching tool for the younger players that look up to them and that's what a lot of younger players need is a mentor. trilete312 0 #16 February 28, 2003 As a huge Walter Payton fan, I was hoping he was done last year. Emmit may have some left in his tank, but will his EGO allow him to play for his current actual market value or will he think he deserves several million a year? I would think he will get several offers for minimum or slightly above minimum.----------- Ready, Set, Gooooooo
