mountainman 0 #1 March 2, 2003 Hey all... long time, no post a lot. Heh heh heh ... I am suffering from the worst case of cabin fever EVER ! I seriously feel depressed all the time. It seems like I go to work 5 days a week, come home and play on the computer, eat, drink and shit. That is my life. It has been quite awhile of no jumping and I KNOW that is the main component in this. I am wondering how all of you people who live north of the "decent winter weather line" cope with these months of crap weather. What do you do ? Another hobby ? (If you live in Colorado, I don't want your reply. I would ski all winter long if I lived there. I LOVE COLORADO !! ) I am looking for something to make it through this winter without having to run through the snow naked to give my life some spice. Blues all !! http://www.brandonandlaura.com

The computer is NOT doing it for me. (That sounded wrong. LOL)http://www.brandonandlaura.com

bobsled92 0 #7 March 2, 2003 Just close your eyes and picture Al Roquer in a Tutu. You will go blind for 2weeks and forget about the weatherWhen I lived in lake Placid I had to watch Magnum P.I. every day just to see the Sun shine. Now I abuse my video collection(jump), mainly WFFC 2001 tape(getting physically worn out now). -Grant G. _______________________________ If I could be a Super Hero, I chose to be: "GRANT-A-CLAUS". and work 365 days a Year. http://www.hangout.no/speednews/

Snowwhite 0 #14 March 2, 2003 MAN I GET DEPRESSED WITH NO SUN! I started volunteering in a public park greenhouse a couple hours a week just to be around the green things. Try spending some time in a tanning bed, no lie! You need whatever the sun has in it, and you can get a little from the bed. It will perk you up just a bit, sometimes just a bit will keep you from thinking about suicide... We once had a season of NO DAYS of sun from Christmas til Good Friday, had to force bloom all the Easter lilies, even THEY were depressed.skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com

Snowwhite 0 #16 March 2, 2003 Ok, if my stupid computer will let me do this, here is my response. I GET SERIOUSLY DEPRESSED WITHOUT SUNSHINE. I know what you are going thru. I volunteered to work a few hours in the public parks greenhouses. Helps being around green and growing things. Also, a couple of minutes every few days in a sunbed will perk you up. Something in there is the same as in sunshine, and will get the endorphines up, and EXERCISE, lots of exercise. Sex is a good one. One year we had 0 days of sunshine from Christmas to good Friday. We had to force bloom all the Easter Lilies. Even THEY were depressed....skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com

FallRate Hey.. yeah, I've been skiing/snowboarding now for about 10 years and I refuse to go there anymore. It is really not worth the effor (and $). They charge more than Vail or Aspen for lift pass and rental for what you get. I think after skiing CO and MI a lot, that is just not fun anymore. It's like Omar having to go do AFF 1 over and over and over. Know what I'm saying ? http://www.brandonandlaura.com

blewaway5 0 #23 March 2, 2003 my friend, it's been one year since I jumped, and I absolutely hold the secret to coping with that. First I throw myself at work, second I have lots of friends who have no sense of shame (this enables me to do absolutely crazy things with no fear of repurcussion) and third, I get falling down sloppy drunk with said friends. Of course, I'm looking forward to this season cause I get to return to the addiction! Truman Sparks for President
ECVZZ 0 #24 March 2, 2003 Sorry to hear about your depression. That sucks! I live in Reno, so my dz is over the pass on I-80 through the Sierra. A 2-1/2 to 3 hour drive on a nice day, but in the winter, the weather is so unpredictable that I only jump when I fly down south to Perris, or if we have an unusually nice stretch of weather and I know I can make it there and back in a day. Winter pretty much sucks for me too, but I have a strong interest in history, so I spend a lot of time reading and researching things. Also, if you like to shoot, reloading is a wonderfully relaxing thing to do. Sometimes I'll sit down in the reloading room and crank out a thousand rounds of .40, or 9mm, or .38. Other times, I work on .30-06 loads on the single stage, then go to the range and chrono them and shoot for groups. The loading and shooting thing is a buttload of fun, and between the two, can give you something to do inside on the not so nice days, and then some outdoor activities (at the range) when the weather is nicer. Also, indoor archery is bunches of fun! Good luck in staving off your boredom! Greg
