gemini 0 #1 March 3, 2003 Political ploy or change of heart? The Washington Post 3/3/03 By DEBORAH ORIN -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- March 3, 2003 -- Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton "fully supports" President Bush's Iraq policy, her office said last night - on the eve of her visit today to an upstate arsenal that makes military hardware like mortars and howitzers for U.S. troops. "Sen. Clinton fully supports the steps the president has taken to disarm Iraq of weapons of mass destruction," said Clinton spokesman Philippe Reines. wmw999 2,589 #2 March 3, 2003 We haven't attacked Iraq yet. I don't know if she supports a unilateral attack on Iraq; she supports what's been done so far. Two different things to me. I support what we've done so far (including talking dirty). But I'm against actually engaging in a unilateral attack. With evidence, that lack of support could be changed. I see a world of difference between "I agree with what's happened so far, and a lot of what you say" and "I support everything you do and might do in the future." It's not an all-or-nothing game here. Wendy W.There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. It removes fear of the consequences and builds false confidence. (tbrown)
freakshow 0 #3 March 3, 2003 I'd say it too no matter what my political views were if I were about to walk into a place that makes mortars and howitzers. B.L. (the brain)
jdhill 0 #4 March 3, 2003 No need for confusion... she learned from Bill that you change your message based on your audiance... How smart would it be to walk into a munitions factory and say, "we need to start gutting the military again, so you all need to find adiffernt line of work..."? Much better to jump aboard the GWB train... I'm a bit confused about why people keep using the word "unilateral". An attack without a second resolution (or is it a 15th resolution? I've lost count) is just that, an attack without another resolution. It is far from unilateral. There will still be a coalition, just not acting with an explicit UN mandate. rgoper 0 #5 March 3, 2003 WOW! what a trip, i can't believe the political double talk. remember i said it here first, next election it will be lieberman/rodham clinton on the democratic ticket, worse yet, they'll win. in any event, coming over here and attacking iraq will be a humoungous mistake.--Richard-- "We Will Not Be Shaken By Thugs, And Terroist"
