Nekid Protesting

I understand people who don't agree with something protesting. I understand wanting to be nekid. What's the deal with the surge of nekid protesting? How did these two some how get merged and held in a noncomical sense?

I think the best "naked protest" I've seen in a while was the guy running naked through the Whatever-It-Was Open golf tournment in England with an arrow on his back pointing down and the words "19th Hole".

Not sure what he was protesting... or maybe he was advertizing?

Maybe they feel that they will get more press if they're naked.

Or they feel they are protesting poor treatment of women in Arab countries as well (often women must cover themselves completely.) It is certainly a way to deflect the usual "oh, so you support Saddam Hussein, huh?" comments.
