skybytch 273 #1 March 4, 2003 Was a year and a day ago, March 2 2002, that a group of fruits and nuts from all over California got together at Perris and proceeded to shatter the previous dz.com RW record in two different ways. First we did it by "Texas rules" (doesn't matter how many leave the airplane, what counts is how many dock - doesn't matter where) with a 13 way, then we did it by the REAL rules (dive performed as dirtdived, slot perfect) with a 2 point 10 way. For those of you who weren't around here way back then (and for the other 9 plus quade that were on said record who perhaps want to go relive the experience), you can see the names of the ten hot shit skydivers who were on the real record, read the story, see the pictures and watch the video here. A year and a day later... the records still stand. Why? Cuz the California fruits and nuts are the best skydivers on here, that's why! Does this upset you? Well, get out there and break some records! The Cali crew needs an excuse to get together and embarrass everyone again.

skybytch 273 #9 March 4, 2003 Quote I thought we were planning to break that record in Perris in May. Oh, we probably will. Just wanted to give the rest of the world a shot at it before we take it totally out of reach come Memorial Day weekend.
AggieDave 6 #10 March 4, 2003 Quote The Cali crew needs an excuse to get together and embarrass everyone again. No, I think Californians are embarressing to everyone in the US on a regular basis, there's no reason to try to get together and do it... --"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." freeflir29 0 #11 March 4, 2003 Quote Eloy Gather folks had more fun partying our asses off, making Hybrid after Hybrid dives and freeflying then worrying about it. Yeah....I mean.....it's ONLY a belly flying record. That's a bit like a "Special Olympics" Gold medal isn't it? OH GOD....Lisa...I'm only kidding.....However, feel free to spank me next time I see ya.
skybytch 273 #12 March 4, 2003 Quote No, it's cos it's hard to get 14 dz.commers together in the UK for a flat dive To break the REAL record, you'll only need 11 people capable of flying to a slot and not taking the formation out in doing so... Oh, wait. Nevermind. I see what you're saying now.

riddler 0 #15 March 4, 2003 k - I don't have tons of jumps, and I don't do big ways. Can someone explain this to me? Quotedoesn't matter how many leave the airplane I can understand why judges care if the dock is as planned and slot-perfect, but I don't get this first part. Do teams get disqualified if not everyone leaves the airplane? And is that a situation that happens a lot with big-ways? As the solo FF, I'm usually towards the back and I never see people ahead of me forget to jump out ...

skybytch 273 #20 March 4, 2003 Quote (You should have come to Eloy again, you missed out girl!) I got laid instead. Repeatedly. By an expert. And I got to play craps for hours on end when I wasn't getting laid. Besides, after WFFC last year, I'm kinda scared to attend any more dz.com gatherings... Much as I love ya Dave, I think I made the right choice. Oh, btw? The Eloy Gathering folks didn't have a chance in hell of beating it even if you had all stayed stone cold sober for the entire boogie. And there's no way you all had nearly as much fun for the whole boogie as I did just that one night after we set that record - what I can remember of that night anyway. skybytch 273 #24 March 4, 2003 Quote Do teams get disqualified if not everyone leaves the airplane? And is that a situation that happens a lot with big-ways? The dz.com RW record is not judged by anyone but dz.commer's, and there is no disqualification - it's all for fun and, should a record be set, bragging rights. Yes, I am bragging. If someone decides to stay in the airplane instead of jumping then the dive isn't going to complete "as dirtdived," therefore it isn't a "real" record. It does happen occasionally on really big ways. I said "doesn't matter how many leave the airplane" because on the "Texas rules" record we had 13 docked out of 15 that left the plane. The term "Texas rules" comes from the previous record holders - who had 8 docked out of 12 or so that left the plane. There was a big flap over it here at the time; do a search and you can see the history of that one.
