damnit dad

Recommended Posts

ok, here i am, about ready to go get something to eat (well not now, but earlier), and my dad is packing up cloths and his gear, because he's leaving for arizona tommorow to go jump at eloy and coolege, bastard doesn't even invite me:P.

but that's not the bad part, he tells me i need to put in cypress batteries for him. and i'm thinking ok, no big deal. i fire his reserve, open it up, pull out the cypess, and what do i get to see, he needs a four year. i go tell him, and he knew, and he just "forgot" to tell me that (he only "forgot" so i wouldn't argue right then). so now, he made me give him my cypress for the week. man i'm pissed. now i have 2 reserves that i have to pack, 1 right now, and one when the dumb cypress gets back from a 4 year.

and i would of told him to just go with out his dumb cypress, but since he bought mine, and i live in his house, i figured i wouldn't argue too much.

ok, i'm done letting off some steam now.

Dude, that is the best story. Getting in a twist with a parent because of skydiving. I love it. B| I envy you. "Son, let me use your Cypress for the weekend."

That, and you are left packing the reserves...I'm dying...:D

That made my night. ;)

So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh
Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright
'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life
Make light!

Yeah, this is pretty damned funny! (sorry bro)

Most kids get wrapped up with their folks over using the car or shit like that, but you're stuck packing reserves. I'm sorry, but that's some funny shit!

no though, this really sucks. i mean, come on, he's a rigger too, why the hell can't he do it. he's the one that's been around longer, and he always gives me crap when every i disagree or am doing something different when packing than him. his responce is "now, who's been the rigger longer here"

and about that time, i through my tools at him, and leave.

and i'm glad that i made your guys night, at least soneome else here is in a better mood than me.

oh, and to add to it, my dog is dreaming, running in her sleep, and now she's barking too. it's kinda freakin me out. :S

Are you up very early, or just not in bed yet. It must be some strange hour in the States now by my reckoning.

i haven't been to bed yet. when i got home (about 4 or so) i fell asleep. so now i'm up, and can't fall asleep for a while.

it's 2:30 here in indiana.

Pissing off my rigger before he packs my reserve...hmmm. Trying to figure out where that fits on my list of, "Things I will not do". ;)
Shit happens. And it usually happens because of physics.

I guess he could have grounded you until you packed his reserve. Now that would have been worse. Of course, grounding you immediately before going out of town would be kind of silly, wouldn't it ;)

There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. It removes fear of the consequences and builds false confidence. (tbrown)

ya, it really wouldn't of lasted too long. he left at the same time i left for school this morning, so that would of been the end of the "grounding". but heres the thing (everyone will thing this is funny, but i don't) when my dad grounds me, i am still aloud to go out with friends, go to parties of friends (non skydiving related), but at to the airport, or jumping, no i'm stuck, not allowed to go. and that really sucks, i mean, when i get grounded, i REALLY get grounded :P. he likes to take my main away from me when that happens so i won't jump anything else (it's just no fun if i can't have a crossed braced to jump).
