At what age did you start skydiving

Recommended Posts

We started at age 46.

No, that is not the Imperial "We", Lynn and I did our FJC and Level Is at Skydive Temple in Salado, TX back in 1995 a couple months before our birthdays. (That answers the thread about our ages as well.)

Faster horses, younger women, older whiskey, more money.

Why do they call it "Tourist Season" if we can't shoot them?

Who made up these categories

someone w/ parents who gave 'em money, I bet. I was too damn poor too skydive in my 20's (of course, the idea never even occurred to me until I was in my 30s). My First jump was @ 35.

Manage to get 3 Static line jumps :)Then I waited for the weather to improve until I was...and I hate to say it....20!!, where I did another two! [:/]

Started to think it was taking too long again and then another two years later manged to get dosh for my AFF :)
That will be two years ago this summer that I did my AFF and I've only just got the dosh to buy my first RIG, canny wait...

Ahh! those holidays I'II be going on:P, the new DZ's I can travel too without fear of sharing rentals:)

31...*sigh* one of my only regrets in life is not starting many years earlier! :)

So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh
Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright
'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life
Make light!

Well, it helped that a first jump course was only $40 when I took it :)
If I'd had the money a year earlier, the FJC would have been $10 less, but oddly enough my mom wouldn't loan me money for skydiving lessons :(. I remember wanting to jump when I was 12.

Of course, it was military surplus gear out of a 172.

There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. It removes fear of the consequences and builds false confidence. (tbrown)

I took my ground AFF classes on my 40th, but we got rained out. Made jump #1, 4 days later.

Yo, Quade - I think I had just turned 39 four months earlier. I knocked out AFF in 2 or 3 months. Ugh - I must be the oldest freeflyer alive by now. But I can keep up with the Punks, thank you.

Luckily I am not POPS qualified as I am still 39, LOL.
