Where should I go?

Recommended Posts

Simple. Go to Oz. Sunshine coast. You will not regret it. The unfortunate part is you'll be stuck in a rut like me, where when any one asks about or mentions AU or a place to go on holiday you will instantly start rambling about what a great place it is and how you/they should go visit.

"Oh, Dave, you play so dirty!
So, what's there to do in Scotland in June? "

Och, I know, but desparate times call for desparate measures. Scotland in June? Dunno its been a long time since I spent June in Scotland. I wanted you to come visit, so I could rope you into babysitting while Mrs Nac and I toured the north west coast of America. Which sounds like way more fun to me....;)

So the promise of confectionary didn't work, it was but a thinly veiled rouse. Instead I will appeal to your humanitarian side. Come to Scotland and set the wee fella free......;)

Thanks for all of your advice, you all, and especially Michele for planning out my itinery! I've already been to the Seattle area twice to visit these relatives so I've done all the regular touristy things, and have already been to BC on the ferry. It would be nice to hit Vancouver with the kids though. Jumping in Kapowsin and seeing my old buddy, gorgeous Dave whatshisname (boy is his head going to get huge with that!), is definitely high on the list. And, I'd love to jump with Zennister too as long as he doesn't bring that RW suit near me! :S

Driving down the coast and stopping in Oregon to visit sounds great if Narci can come out. I'd probably want to spend the bulk of my time in San Fran because there are so many dz's and dz.commers there. And, there seems to be so much to do there besides skydiving. Everyone I've ever known who has gone to San Fran has had a great time, so I'm really considering this trip. I've already mentioned it to the kids too and they were psyched.

wow, ok, so I've been traveling for work (yes, I was in SoCal - Ontario specifically last week), and NoCal the week before, and I'm sitting in Reno NV right now, and work won't let me access the forums (porn!?!?) and I stumble across this.... :$:$:$:$ wow......

anyway, I'm thinking there may be a weid14 apperance in Perris or Elsinore 3/23 or so 4way anyone?

Hi Andrea!
Just a few thoughts...
Driving all the way from the Seattle area is a bit of a treck, but it is do-able. You could also consider the train which is as beautiful, and i think you may see more of the oreagon coast that way, or if you really want an adventure check out GreenTortoise (an alternative transport service, kind of like the merry pranksters, with great food and they take the scenic route with stops for playing and feasting). Portland is schweet, Humbolt, CA can be very entertaining and when you get just south of Ukiah, CA get off of 101 and take the Avenue of the Giants... there are sequoias (redwoods) that are so massive they had to bend the roads around them, its like traveling in Middle Earth.
You have many dz.comrads in the Bay Area that would love to play. You are welcome to stay here if you want to investigate the peoples republic of Berkeley, the east bay, as a base to investigate San Francisco or just hang for a great margarita or three. i could take you sailing, jumping, or even be a tour guide if you wish.
If you get here and want to see the sights, Monterey is about 2 hours south, and it has an amazing vista from the air. However, the hour drive south from there to Big Sur is one of the more spectacular sights in the states, and you should have it on your lifetime must-do! list. You might even check out a weekend at Esalen, just south of Big Sur for really pampering yourself. Or alternativly there are other hotsprings about two hours from here, closer to Skydance that are almost free, and that can make you feel great after so much traveling. I especially like Harbin hotsprings. There is also the wine regions, Napa and Sonoma are an hour away, for touring and there is always some great music in the area if you like to dance.
ummm... so much to do....... good luck deciding...

We usually have good 6 to 10 ways organized by the world-famous (:P)Gareth Holder on weekends. If you decide to put Byron on your itinerary, I'll hang up the tandem camera for a day to show you around and jump out of a KingAir with the Mama!

The boogie at Davis really is the bomb, though. Really friendly, relaxed, and fun. They do a good split between RW and FF too. They usually light up their landing area with road service lights for their night jumps, too.

By June, the rolling hills will be dried and golden, quite a change from the relentless green of Florida;)
