billvon 3,092 #1 March 12, 2003 So I noticed another "protesters are big fat idiots" type thread below that wasn't really worth responding to. Here's a challenge for people who don't like protesters, or what they're protesting: do something about it! Don't like that theyre getting all the news coverage? Go out and get some yourself. Last time I went to a march there were something like 8000 peace protesters and 7 advocates for war. Surely the country is really not 99.9% against war. So get out there no matter what your views. Write letters. Go to marches. Go to rallies. Make signs. Let your voice be heard. We're about to embark on a course that will have dire consequences for the future of our national security; don't let apathy decide our response as a people. If you want to go to a war rally, Clear Channel has in the past organized a bunch of rallies, do a search on them. Peace rallies are easier to find, a Google search will give you dozens of them. Or if you just want to support our troops, or the president, get out there and do that - they could use your support.
Vallerina 2 #2 March 12, 2003 For anyone in the Chicago area, you are more than welcome to food/snacks at my grandma's house before the next rally she's attending (I think) this Sunday. I've sent a few letter; I know they weren't looked into any further than a hash mark for "anti war."There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning
rgoper 0 #3 March 12, 2003 BillVon: great idea. i'm doing my share of screaming! i believe everyone's opinion should have merit, no matter what they are. my ol' daddy used to tell me "son, i don't agree with everything you say, but i'll defend to the death your right to say it" that's what 22 years in the marines did to him! J/K he was anal, but he was fair. --Richard-- "We Will Not Be Shaken By Thugs, And Terroist"
cgross 1 #4 March 12, 2003 Well, I don't know if you heard, but there were several pro america demonstrations 2 weeks ago. In fact one in Houston had 8000+ people. But guess what, the liberal media didn't cover that. The only one I saw mention it was Foxnews...

rhino 0 #9 March 12, 2003 No need to protest... Anti war people are protesting because they aren't getting what they want.. I agree with what GWB is doing so no need for me to protest. Rhino
billvon 3,092 #10 March 12, 2003 >I agree with what GWB is doing so no need for me to protest. GWB says war is a last resort. Do you agree with him, that we should try everything else first? If so, then I agree with you. In any case, you might want to get out to one of the several rallies in support of our troops - if you feel they could use the support. bmcd308 0 #21 March 12, 2003 I went and stood by the freeway with a flag when the guys were rolling out of Bragg. The highway was lined with stopped cars and people with flags. People were also waving flags on overpasses. Maybe it's just because I'm not from California or New York so I'm more stupid than the people who know better, but it seems to me that people are supporting our troops. At least some of us.
