It is very wrong to download software without paying for it. I could never support such criminal behaviour.:)

However, when I want to share my own personal files with the world and download shareware and other free legal stuff I find kazaa pretty cool. It is a completely legal piece of software and strongly warns you about the badness of ripping off software.

There is a really good patch for kazaa which gets rid of the pop-ups and adware, you can get this from http://www.zeropaid.com/news/articles/auto/02042003b.php

Hey Mandy,
Kazaa is annoying, but Kazaa Lite kicks ass. The lite version does what you need from the full version, without any spyware or pop-ups or other required dowloads. I personally never download and programs from it becuase it's very risky. Anything that is a ".exe" can be anything, worst case scenario, a virus or something that destroys your hard drive... So while i will download mp3 doc or other file extensions i won't download a .exe from someone i don't know. So just be careful. i'd suggest make good friends with one of the Network Admins on here and ask for a copy of it that way. good luck.

Anybody know where a VERY BAD PERSON (not I, really) could borrow a copy of these applications? There used to be a thing called hotline hotclient or something like that, but it seems to be gone. Any other ideas?

Thanks!

If ya feel like driving a little way's, you could come to my house and borrow them. But of course you will have to bring them back when your done.

We were hoping to get out there to perris/elsinore/LA next week... But due to the delay on the video, and lack of travel funds, we will be here working, even though I have 2 whole weeks off!!! starting tomorrow!

hopefully we'll be out there in May or June...

There is no such thing as "demos". The only thing that is demos is licenced demo versions that are usually altered to have either a timeout peroid or disabled features. If you think otherwise you better consult the BSA and try to explain to them that you thought you were running a "demo" copy.

Software is in a few versions for licencing:

Open Source (lots of methods to do this)
Freeware (they give it way for free)
Shareware (If you like it you should send the author some money to licence it, licencing usually gives you access to tech support)
Personal
Educational (Only legal if you can show a valid student ID in your name at the time of purchase)
Enterprise

Thats a simple breakdown. At no point does Microsoft say you can "demo" their software.
Yesterday is history
And tomorrow is a mystery
