There are some really good Microbrews here in the Northeast, (Shipyard for one, had a really good Prelude the other night)but the Northwest does have some good beer, yes. I like Fat tire personally, but haven't tried too many. Must put that on my "to do" list..visit Northwest brewpubs. I do enjoy a really good beer.
