skybytch 273 #1 March 16, 2003 You wouldn't think it would be dangerous to go to the dz for a beer after work on a Friday evening, especially if you know the "sunset" load has already gone up and you don't have your gear with you anyway. Well, let me warn you; if you have an addiction like I do it can be extremely dangerous... I stopped by Perris after work Friday hoping to meet up with someone who has some camping gear for me. Never heard from him, but I did run into Laurie. Her b/f was out of town for the weekend, it was supposed to rain buckets all weekend and she wanted to do a quick trip to the Nevada border to do some gambling. I'm thinking... hmmmm.... so I asked her what she plays. My mind was made up when she said "blackjack and craps." We tried to talk some of the other folks hanging out at the Bombshelter into going with us, but they all wussied out. I called my boss, who thought that sounded like a great idea (he likes marathon craps sessions too). We met up at his house about 8 pm, he got us a room at Circus Circus for Friday and Saturday nights and off we went! Pulled into Vegas about 12:30 am; went to check in but the line was way long so it was off to the tables with us. Didn't see the room until 5:30 am Slept 'til 1pm then went downtown. btw, if you're ever in Vegas after dark, do not miss the Fremont Street Experience. Besides the casino's lining both sides of what used to be a street but is now a covered pedestrian area, they have entertainment (we heard a guy playing rock music on a bagpipe - I swear he was. Recognizable songs too!)... and the cover over the street turns into a pretty trick light and music show every half hour or so after dark. Anyway, I got my craps fix for this month - I spent about 18 hours at the tables between 12:30am Saturday morning and 3:30 am Sunday morning. Yes, my feet hurt. And I broke my losing streak - I won! Kinda... after feeding myself for two days I came back with almost exactly the same amount of cash I'd gone up there with. Consider yourself warned... it really can be dangerous to go to the dz for a beer after work!

ECVZZ 0 #6 March 17, 2003 I was on Freemont Fri. night too, and the bagpipes sounded rather odd didn't they. Called JT but we kept missing each other. Made it back to Reno this morning without so much as a hangover! G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."
