quade 4 #1 March 18, 2003 Hope everyone gets a chance to tune into this piece of history. CNN and others are now saying the ultimatum will be a 48 hours to get out of dodge. Others are still sticking by the 72 hour ultimatum. Ought to be interesting. I'm poppin' up a batch a popcorn right now and gettin' ready. Too bad Pizza Hut won't deliver to my office any more.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
AggieDave 6 #2 March 18, 2003 Quote Too bad Pizza Hut won't deliver to my office any more There HAS to be a story behind that, and I'm sure that you're apart of it...Yup, I'm going to be watching, too.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." quade 4 #4 March 18, 2003 Well, they used to be able to drive right up to it, but when 9/11 happened, security closed it all off. Being the #5 terrorist target in California does that.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver

TEB6363 0 #9 March 18, 2003 I'd bet on 48 hours. I still wonder about this "formal" declaration to start the clock. I have friends and family that will have to follow orders. I would rather them have the best chance possible without haveing to announce when any attack may start. If it's time to go....let's go. Once the plane takes off, you're gonna have to land - Might as well jump out!!
mountainman 0 #10 March 18, 2003 I'm waiting for him to get up to the podium and say that the strikes are starting at this exact moment. That would make history. http://www.brandonandlaura.com
quade 4 #11 March 18, 2003 Well, we're stupid, but not -quite- so stupid as to annouce the exact moment we'll attack. It'll probably go down something like a 48 (or 72) hour ultimatum with actual first strike within a day or two after that. Strategically, you want them to have a couple of really sleepless nights before you drop the first one.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
AggieDave 6 #12 March 18, 2003 "The Art of War" A very very good book if you've never read it. You'd be surprised how well it still works, these thousands of years later. It'll also shed light onto why and how we do things sometimes.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
quade 4 #13 March 18, 2003 It was required reading when we opened up our first Tokyo office. That and we had to learn to use chopsticks and drink saki. Not too bad for a work "requirement". quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
BoobieCootie 0 #14 March 18, 2003 Yeah, and eventually China experiences their cultural revolution and becomes a communist country. Then take away civil rights, and 50 years later, become a gigantic capital hub on the face of the planet. Gee... I don't want to wait that long

Went up as soon as the President started speaking. At least that's what is being reported in the Press although if you look at the web site it still says yellow. If they find any contraband (i.e. drugs, etc.), you're going to jail.
