flyingferret 0 #5 March 18, 2003 Bill, my statement in no way meant I prefered the validity of mine over his. rgoper 0 #6 March 18, 2003 i get my news from all over the world, just access it through my CPU here at work. i thought it would be good to get another "angle" on world affairs. i try to look at world affairs from a "global perspective" notice, i said "i try" even when i'm home, i still pull up news paper websites from all over the globe. there is always another perspective other than our own. i posted this because i didn't know how many of us took the time to do some actual research from other's viewpoints.--Richard-- "We Will Not Be Shaken By Thugs, And Terroist"

flyingferret 0 #8 March 18, 2003 Obviously, there are good articles on there http://www.arabnews.com/Article.asp?ID=23844 I was simply commenting that you live in a region where the feelings toward the US might be a little biased. Michele 1 #10 March 18, 2003 Quoteplease take some time to research news from a different view. Richard, I have, I do, and I shall continue to. It's a great site, one which I frequent. There are several others (but those are bookmarked at home, and I'm not at home yet....) that I read, as well, and find a great deal of information which doesn't make it into the US news - at least from the arab perspective. Best to you, Richard. Stay safe... Ciels- MIchele ~Do Angels keep the dreams we seek While our hearts lie bleeding?~

rgoper 0 #12 March 18, 2003 QuoteSo you fly back to the US to go to bed every night? If not, you live there. Maybe temporarily, but you live there. this is an obvious personal attack. although your insight in world affairs and other's established residences may be far greater than mine, your attempt of inticing me into a verbal "sparring match" was an exercise in futility, as i can see that the author is not only obtuse, but infantile as well. the attempt not only shows contempt, but lack of creativity. c'mon, that's all you got son?--Richard-- "We Will Not Be Shaken By Thugs, And Terroist"

harryskydives 0 #14 March 18, 2003 Crown Prince Abdullah addressed the Saudi people last night, he spoke on behalf of the civilized world. He said that Saudi Arabia would accept a US-led war on Iraq only as long as it stays strictly within the remit of UN resolution 1441, and would expect the war to end as soon as that resolution’s objectives are achieved ____________________________________________ good to know that where rgoper get his news is from "the man that speaks on behalf of the civilized world." But at least the Prince acknowledges that war is within the UN guidelines. _______________________________________________ US ambitions are for nothing less than complete control of Iraq and its oil reserves, and for a redrawing of the map of the entire region according to its own — and crucially, Israel’s — agenda. I guess we will have to wait and see if Iraq becomes the 51st state. __________________________________________ Saddam Hussein — isolated and perhaps long out of touch with reality. We must not forget, after all, that he has ultimately brought this fate upon himself and upon the Iraqi people, whom he has for so long terrorized. At least the Prince does realize where the problem lies. He just does not trust GW. Don't run out of altitude and experience at the same time... PhillyKev 0 #17 March 18, 2003 Because resident of the middle east = ??? Seriously, what is offensive about that. How would you characterize residents of the middle east that makes it insulting to be considered one? ***scanned post several times, don't think it contains a personal attack but they apparently hide behind otherwise innocuous posts****

dterrick 0 #19 March 19, 2003 Quote I guess we will have to wait and see if Iraq becomes the 51st state. ...silly me, I thought #51 was going to be Canada. Maybe we can settle for #52??? I sure hope this war doesn't backfire. Can you imagine what will happen if (when?) the terrorists shut down the North American skies on Memorial Day weekend ... or 4th of July weekend with some "equally justified" (in their minds) attack... gonna make for a whole bunch of pissed off skydivers. Dave PS: I hope you;re not sweating the face that Canada isn't sending any troops in ... the truth is - we don't have any (well, 3 more canoes full and an armoured Cessna) Life is very short and there's no time for fussing and fighting my friend (Lennon/McCartney)
bodypilot90 0 #20 March 19, 2003 QuoteNews that I like better: French thinks twice http://www.sky.com/skynews/article/0,,30000-1084093,00.html I think we should tell the french to pound sand. They are the biggest cause for the "Armies of the willing and able" to enforce 1441. If there was any hope to disarm SH peaceably it died when the french said they would veto anything.
