kallend 2,156 #26 March 18, 2003 Mark, I really don't see the behavior you are predicting to be much different in kind from the behavior "bodypilot90" and others are already practising - vilification of those with whom they disagree. Servicemen do a difficult and dangerous job and deserve our respect and support, regardless of what we think of the politicians who send them. Peace protesters are entitled to their 1st amendment rights and are not traitors, even if we disagree with them. It is my opinion that those most deserving of DISrespect are those that violate the letter and spirit of the Constitution.... The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one. It's not vilification, at least not in the present tense. I did vilify those who did such things in the 60's, but then, they deserved it, as will any creeps who do such things."The mouse does not know life until it is in the mouth of the cat." No all I have tried to do is show who is at the root of the peace movment. I poke fun at you because I think you are smart enouph to play along. Hell I'll buy ya a case of your fav beer next time I'm up in the windy city. I jumped with a fellow from egypt a few weeks ago we got in a somewhat heated discussion. when it was done I bought him a jump. I sent a link here of some interviews of the peace marchers. Frankly I found they knew little about anything. I enjoy sparing with Bill Von and you because at least you know a little of what you are talking about. NO I don't think every peace marcher is a "commie" but even Bill admitted that if you follow the money you'd be shocked and where it came from. Sometimes I think we all forget who the bad guy is. It's not the french not the USA or even the Camel jockey in Iraq. It is SH. sorry /rant mode off/

Um, begging your pardon, Kallend...but I don't think the discussion is moot - I think it is vital to discuss (not slam, not bait, not inflame....discuss) the situations that we, as a people, are facing. Lest someone think I am excluding anyone, I give no nationality, nor gender, nor religious creed (or no religious creed)... Discussion promotes learning. It is never too late to discuss.... Ciels- Michele We are going to be at war in the immediate future. Discussion of whether we should go to war with or without UN approval, whether Iraq was complicit in 9/11 attacks, and whether they have WMDs as rationale for war, whether a pre-emptive war is legal or just... is now moot. It will make good discussion fodder for historians after the war is over, and for candidates in the 2004 elections. At this time we should be supporting the troops. I agree with Bodypilot.... algboy 0 #34 March 20, 2003 He's baaaack . . . . "All the discussion is moot now - we're going to war." So who appointed you King? Isn't that Gee Dubbya's job? As long as we still have a Constitution, we have the right--and duty--to question our "public servants." Just because bullets are flying doesn't mean we have to put our brains and/or consciences on a shelf. I will always question the specious rationales for this insane rush to war: the idiotic 9/11 tie-in, the bogus bin Laden--Saddam links, the over-hyped "threat" to our freedom Saddam represents, the somewhere-out-there WMDs, the doctored documents and outright fabrications the US/British war-hawks have offered as "evidence." So--while you're all high-fiving your buddies in the local gin mills while CNN covers the slaughter, remember that there will be a bunch of us out there who will keep asking the embarassing questions and, as my favorite beer maker once said, "setting brushfires in people's minds." Oh yeah--I Support Our Troops! Now Bring Them Home!“Keep your elbow up!"
